#3I lean Dbacks as well. Braves and Mets both have the tie-breaker over them. Whoever wins the series between the Mets & Braves this week gets the tie-breaker there.Comment -

#6just looking at the remaining scheduled, with the Mets playing all their games on the road and the other two have nothing but home games, if I could vote again I'd be tempted to vote Mets. These 2 games against the Braves will obviously mean a lot.Comment -

#10It would be a total guess for me. Thankfully I don't have to bet any Money.
It's either the Mets or Diamondbacks who will suffer the end of season depression. Atlanta's injuries might get them NOW.
I give up.!Comment -

And I said Sale would get rocked because everytime Peterson is on the mound the Mets crush the opposite pitcher everytime. It doesn't matter who pitches Mets crush them when he is pitching. Had nothing to do with him not being good or Mets are way better than everyone else. Settle down guy.Last edited by unde0087; 09-26-24, 10:33 AM.Comment -

#18Dbacks are in a world of hurt. Whoever wins game 1 is going to rest half their lineup in game 2 and won't use any top relievers to save them in the quick turn around. So there is a very high probability that this 2 game series will end up being a split.Comment -

#19You make me laugh. Mets peaked pal. Don't let your homerism hit you too hard. I will not be surprised if the Braves win both games tomorrow.Comment -

#22That is correct. But I said nothing about them making the playoffs in my post. I said the Dbacks are in a bad spot. The winner of the first game will have one foot in the plane. The second game will be meaningless to that team since Dbacks failed to beat the Braves or Mets in the regular season series. The winner of game 1 has nothing to play for and will use as little as possible in game 2 knowing they have play a round 1 game the next day. I wouldn't even be surprised to see that team use a position player as a pitcher in game 2 at some point to save on bullpen. MLB already fuked them both by not addressing the hurricane situation ahead of time. Neither coach will have an incentive to try in game 2 if they win game 1. Hence, my post, Dbacks are in a world of hurt. They need a sweep and they already know game 2 is going to be one team throwing everything they have at it and one that already boarding the plane. Can a sweep happen? Of course it can but the chances of it happening are very slim compared to a split.Last edited by unde0087; 09-29-24, 10:22 PM.Comment -

#24If MLB wasn't making them play these games, I guarantee both managers would agree to forfeit a game. It only hurts them with having to use arms against each other with having to play a playoff game the next day.

#29Why cause I said Mets own your Padres? They do. I merely said i would want Mets to hold 2nd wildcard spot to face Padres. It is the best matchup for them. I never said Mets were a lock to make the playoffs. I said I want the Padres first.
And I said Sale would get rocked because everytime Peterson is on the mound the Mets crush the opposite pitcher everytime. It doesn't matter who pitches Mets crush them when he is pitching. Had nothing to do with him not being good or Mets are way better than everyone else. Settle down guy.
Yeah you played well against us this year but would feel confident about sending you home again if we were to play.
The real story would be will this current Met's manager do an ear hole cavity search on poor Joe Musgrove?Comment -

Bottom line is the loser of game 1 will probably have a decent advantage to win game 2 given the situation.Comment -

#31^Dbacks actually had that advantage against the Padres the past 2 games but could only win one of them while the Padres rested many key players.
They have nothing to complain about if they don't make the playoffs. It was in their control. Not to mention blowing an 8-0 to the Brewers last week.Comment -

#33Absolutely, why on earth would they use him after clinching and then would not be available for the wild card round of the playoffs.
He will start tomorrow if they hang on to win this first game of the DH.Comment -
