The womens soccer world cup had me shocked at the massive interest at the time.

I wonder if more women are getting into watching sport, or more men are actually getting into womens sport.

I think it is the youth girls that are driving the extra attendance. I had to take my girls to Albany last weekend.

Crowd make up was parents with their daughters and what appeared to be old lesbian couples.

They were bugging me to take them to Cleveland, but we already have tickets to IIHF hockey tomorrow.

            How was Albany?
We almost drove the two hours and change up I-90. to watch our hometown Fairfield Stags get curb stomped by Indiana but thought better of it.

I love Rebeca Lobo's shot at Albany "Good luck finding something to do in Albany."
I did a spit take tight after she said that. Lobo caught major heat for that.

Supply and demand. 20K arena vs 60K stadium. That means there are at least 10 to 20k nosebleeds in the stadium that will dilute the cost of the overall average. Pretty simple economics 101 stuff.

What's the issue? It's a pretty good tournament and great to bet.

It's been a terrific tournament to date, you have super talented players from coast to coast.
Bueckers and Edwards carried UConn on their backs, Juju did more as a freshman at USC than most women has done is a four year collegiate career, you had LSU and their defense of the title and Angel Reese, and on and on.

Every player I just named will be an WNBA first round lottery picks. Guaranteed.

Then there's Caitlin, a once in a generation great.
Caitlin is to Iowa and NCAA women's basketball what Pete Maravich was LSU and NCAA men's basketball.

Women's college hoops is riding a perfect storm.

You have so many stories and back stories going on.
Start with the insane popularity of late in women's sports, with ESPN and MSM hyping the Caitlin Clark story to the bejesus that you'd think she was Taylor Swift.

You have the rematch angle between LSU and Iowa, the UConn factor, I may be a homer, but know this, when UConn and Geno and a healthy Paige Bueckers are involved, people tune in.

You have all these things going, all the entertaining high-octane games, like I said, a recipe for a perfect storm.
Ratings tomorrow for the UConn-Iowa game are expected to smash all sorts of records, the ratings so far for the women's tournament are already higher than last year's NBA playoffs, don't take my word for that though, look it up for yourself.

Stuff that was before my time, if interested I will research, or talk to people who were.
It's not like I am claiming I was there, that would be unethical.

But what I do is write my little four paragraphs or so musings based off what I read or was told.
I know, I know, you're giving your pal Nasher the business.
Of course, I wasn't alive when Pistol Pete was with LSU, but from the documentary I read, and video clips I've seen, sure feels like I was.

Hey, you got to admit, that Caitlin to Maravich analogy was vintage Nasher.
