really tough to stop the eagles. they can play like crap and make mistakes, but still dominate. wouldn't shock me if they open up the 2nd half with a TD and turn a close game into a 20-3 lead.

Only way to lose this is backdoor cover at the end so it will depend on where the money is.

That Eagles' QB sneak thing they do will be banned by the NFL next season. They considered banning it this season. It's not football. It's rugby.

How do you ban that? It's a jumbo package run play. What's the verbiage in the official rule gonna look like?
Banning a quarterback sneak seems a little extreme.

The part they would ban is the two players pushing the QB from behind
Which still wouldn't really make sense since other teams tried to do it and failed so it's really a personnel advantage with their massive OL and Jalen Hurts. Eagles even failed once doing it with Minshew

really wouldn't make much of a difference if they banned it or not. the basic qb sneak isn't as obvious and yields similar results. it will always be extremely tough to hold someone like hurts to less than a yard. he would just dive under the tackle.

That's gonna be the new goal line play for teams if you have beefy OL. It's within the rules.

I think the illegal part is where the offensive linemen dove to the knees of the defensive linemen. That could lead into injuries.

yes but rules get changed all the time. Like I said before, its rugby not football. It looks dumb. Philly could get a 1st and goal and just run the same scrum 4x in a row and they will score a TD 90% of the time.
I hope they change the rule for next season.

Cut blocking isn't illegal though, at least not at the line of scrimmage

Bucs didn’t even care with 10 minutes left. Just laid down in a 2 possession game. Bowles will be fired by December.

Yes, it should be banned
The defense can't get an edge on a blocked place kick attempt by using a teammate for leverage, then the offense shouldn't be able to get and edge with a 'tush push'.

If the chop block is illegal (and it is) so should the cut block.

agree with everything you said. I say they will change the rules because come on now, this looks goofy. Credit to Philly for doing it. Its effective for sure. It just doesn't belong in football IMO. Prediction. It will be outlawed next season. Imagine if rugby adopted the flea flicker.

If other teams catch on and it becomes really effective then yes I do think the rules will be changed. Such as no pushing from behind at or behind the line of scrimmage.
They have that rule with field goals now on the defensive side.. Leverage.

Is the point that Philly converts it too easily? Because I don't think it's going to affect Philly that much. It's mostly just Hurts and the OL that are just bigger and stronger than everyone. They're still going to sneak it on short yardage plays and they're still gonna go low and get it most of the time

of course that's why. I give Philly credit for using it. Its almost 100% effective. It stops being a football play where the outcome isn't in question anymore though. That's not football. Its a rugby scrum. The NFL will change it so teams won't be able to do it next year. I hope.
