That story makes it sound different to the story released yesterday...

"WynnBET last week officially replaced their state-specific apps with a new multi-state platform in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Virginia, with the expectation that the company will introduce its new and improved product in their other locations, in Massachusetts, West Virginia, and New York in the very near future."

    https://www.sportsbookreview.com/news/wynnbet-improved-sports-betting-app-goes-live-aug-7-2023/

I guess as the headline about leaving most states is clearly wrong, the original story might be the accurate one.

No I have been emailed by WynnBet NJ that they are done there.

Some states are charging ridiculous fees and taxes. No wonder -130 will be the norm

50 different licenses and sets of rules is the crazy un needed cost.

Hopefully states make agreements to honor each others licenses. That will vastly lower costs and create competition between states.

Yes many expenses. Licensing, marketing, taxes, fees to payment processors, and a lot more. WynnBet has had a low market share and probably could not keep up.

This sucks. Wynnbet was like the best book. Reduced juice baseball and Hockey. Reduced NBA during playoffs.

Literally down to 5 books I am able to use in NJ.

This. Unfortunately, this is the norm. We need multiple books to keep the lines competitive. Otherwise- the bettor doesn’t stand a change.

Louisiana could have had like 40+ liscenses but have had the same 8 for a while now. Didnt hear anything about winn leaving but I very rarely use them.

It's mostly that Fanduel and Draftkings have a strangehold. These other books can't figure out how to take market share.

This is only the beginning. Within ten years, it will be like Las Vegas with a few corporations running everything and offering piss poor rewards.

                          Might be true, unfortunately.

These new entrants need to realize they aren't going to take share through advertising. Invest in offering a great, user-friendly product.

C'mon. You expect them to employ actual bookmakers to make decisions?!?

Bookmaking and odds is part of it. But also invest in the tech and make a great user-friendly app with endless options. That's why Fanduel is where they are.
