DirecTV just seems weird without Sunday Ticket. I'd like to see what revenue YouTube shares after the season ends. Clearly they aren't going to reach their goals. 100% sure I'm not paying YouTube for Football.... so if DirecTV doesn't have a Red Zone channel... looks like just local CBS and FOX channels for me. 1-3 games is fine with me.

You are NOT restricted to your local FOX channel. The game you get on the FOX website depends solely on your IP address. If you set your VPN to New York and got to the FOX channel you will get whichever game is showing in New York. If you set your VPN to Los Angeles you will get whichever game is showing in Los Angeles. With a decent VPN you should be able to choose whichever game you like that FOX has.

The caveat is that it's only free for 1 hour, but if you clear your DNS cache, (15 second job), your free hour will immediately reset.

Thanks for the post. I never thought of this at all.... let alone never watched one football game on the FOX website. Again, thanks for the information.

Great point, and I've wondered this too. YT will never, ever reveal subscription numbers but I'd bet they are tanking compared to what Directv had last season.

Directv just announced they will have the RedZone channel available under their premium and sports packages. So there's something there on Directv.

The NFL RedZone channel will be available to DirecTV customers for the first time as part of a multiyear renewal of its carriage agreement with NFL Media.

Instructions to clear DNS cache on a Windows PC:
              1) Close all browsers, bookmarks, links etc.
              2) Hit the Windows button and X simultaneously. (Alternatively type: command prompt in the 'Type here to search' box).
              3) Select Command Prompt from the options now on screen.
              4) Type: ipconfig/flushdns
              5) Hit enter.
You can now close the Command Prompt and re-open the browser. Your 1 hour free pass will be restored on FOX. (Normally I do this at the end of each quarter).

I think it was a mistake for YouTube TV to raise their regular programming fees etc. Yes, they are more price alluring than Xfinity... etc. But they could of domino'd the industry totally in their favor with a $5.00-$8.00 fee reduction. They are trying to hit the home run gaining the official rights of Sunday Ticket... but perhaps they didn't know the ins and outs of that football package? Unless you've been under a rock for the past 6-7 years... any customer ready to cancel DirecTV during July-August... customer service would give you NFL Sunday Ticket for Free... No contract. A lot of satellite forum gurus already knew about this... but did YouTube figure all the freebies DirecTV gave away? Who knows? I think YouTube will lose on this deal. AT&T/DirecTV and even Dish have lowered introductory pricing... you still need a cable/data plan to receive YouTube TV... is the younger generation that stupid?

Like I've mentioned, as a condo owner I'm not allowed external hardware e.g dish on the roof...
But if one is consumer savvy, you can play the content providers off of each other.

For instance, my main options are Frontier and Optimum.
I say to Optimum "Frontier is offering me (and they are) wicked high speed (say 2300 mps) for a ridiculous low price., which I am considering and I also want to downsize my cable package to bare bones basic as I am going to stream Youtube TV, yadda, yadda, yadda,,,

You know the game by now, play it correctly you can negotiate yourself higher speed content delivery with basic cable AND YouTube TV for a lower monthly cost as then what you were paying, providing you apply the YouTube TV discount welcome promos.

The younger generation I think isn't that stupid, but I do think the younger generation is to lazy as they expect others to do that work for them, and life these days doesn't work like that.

^ I know your situation Nasher. Hope you didn't take what I said in a harsh tone... wasn't directed to you. Just speaking... overall in general. Your only option is to have 2 competitive cable providers in your area,.. you can switch back and forth... now mind you... some people hate switching etc... changing equipment... yadda yadda yadda. But you have the right idea. It's the only way to beat the system.

So Directv had 2.4 million subscribers for Sunday Ticket. I'd love to see what YT has for that on Week 1 this season. I doubt they will make that public unless it surpasses the Directv number, which seems unlikely.

There's going to be quite a few unhappy people. This doesn't have close to the bite that DirecTV gave to fans. YouTube will TANK this deal.

Shot, in 2024 NFL will be asking patrons to give blood to watch the games. They're looking for a clean vein.

Will NEVER pay a $ to watch the NFL.

I would pay a bit to watch some other sports.

                                                NFL is boring as hell.
                                                NBA same.

I would pay a bit to watch some other sports.

                                                  NFL is boring as hell.
                                                  NBA same.
First time in about 12 years I won't be watching Sunday Ticket... I just have the local channels for Sunday Games... yeah I have ESPN and NFL Network... great price from DirecTV... but it certainly will be different not watching ALL the games on Sunday. Plenty of action on FOX and CBS (local channels...) That's good enough for me.
