#6Daniel Kahneman: Thinking, Fast and Slow
I know that this book is standard literature in one of the biggest betting syndicates. Some reviews:
Financial Times: There have been many good books on human rationality and irrationality, but only one masterpiece. That masterpiece is Daniel Kahneman's Thinking, Fast and Slow. Kahneman, a winner of the Nobel Prize for economics, distils a lifetime of research into an encyclopedic coverage of both the surprising miracles and the equally surprising mistakes of our conscious and unconscious thinking.
The Economist: Profound . . . As Copernicus removed the Earth from the centre of the universe and Darwin knocked humans off their biological perch, Mr. Kahneman has shown that we are not the paragons of reason we assume ourselves to be.
The Wall Street Journal: Kahneman's disarmingly simple experiments have profoundly changed the way that we think about thinking . . . We like to see ourselves as a Promethean species, uniquely endowed with the gift of reason. But Mr. Kahneman's simple experiments reveal a very different mind, stuffed full of habits that, in most situations, lead us astray.

#7Hole-in-one Gang by John Carter.
Not a book i've read, but that's because I knew John Carter and about the story. I had to run his shop in Ilford Lane whilst he was away and I wasn't best pleased about it. On a personal note my favourite John Carter story was him phoning in sick one Monday morning - 'I've got a bit of a cough and cold and i'm not going to be in today'. John was several thousand miles away in the Las Vegas Hilton watching the golf tournament. Technically it was still Sunday night where he was. LMAO.Comment -

#11Seconding Thinking Fast and Slow. The poker theory books as mentioned, Joseph Buchdahls are good. And Charles Bukowski
I have wasted a lifetime at the racetrack
and to this moment, I still go every day.
I don’t know any other place to go.
