Sbr was ahead of it's time dane. A community of people. I never thought I'd make friends on the internet but over the years I'd say I have.

Definitely the jj videos and other guys were funny. Especially in there prime.

Maybe one day our consciousness can be reconstructed artificially from our sbr posts

My favorite was when Tsoprano was booking on the forum and giving players credit accounts. SBR chat and his whole operation was great. He always paid and never had an issue with him. He is still booking and has his own website still. a PPH website. I still have an account with him but don't use it often but it is there when I want it. It was a great era of SBR!

2009 -2013 was the best times. PT had about 1000 regulars (no ghosts), the Poker rooms had about 250 players, people actually offered good advice on how and what to bet, the contests were fun to play and winning points meant something actually.

2010-13 for sure! Bash in Vegas at Golden Nugget. Enjoyed the poker tourney and met a few nice posters. Seemed like a much better community back then and I can't be bothered to post here under the new management. On the plus side, 21-3 in Dec on Covers lol (same handle)

It is pretty sad because this was a great community. I have some friends from here that I have developed real friendships with. I have met a ton of people over the years as well. With the way that social media is, all the different outlets, I don't think this site can ever be what it used to be, "almost" impossible.

Once the bet point system and the SBR store closed the free ride was over on SBR. Shit happens. Gotta build back SBR from scratch!

What do other gambling forums have that this one doesn't have now? SBR was a gift for years.


I never understood how SBR could give out a gambling option with bet points and survive without getting any real money put down by it's members for free? I get the $100 donation to go PRO and marketing sponsors. The revenue to me never made sense though, surprise it ever lasted as long as it did.

My logic is Vegas makes bank off gamblers putting money down. SBR never asked for any money.

Now people are gone because the SBR STORE is shut down and bet points aren't worth a crap which is sad.

This is a great question, dane. You hit on two that come to mind:

1) The Coll FB Bowl contest. I never finished in the money but I got close. It was well-run and it was fun.

2) The Poker seasonal events. It was fun. Won't speak for others but it was a nice mental break to the day. Chance to shoot the bull in the chat-box. Enjoyed the competition where Dailies would qualify you for the Big Tournament.

As for individual bets or a guy hitting a big longshot, can't think of too many. But it was cool to see a guy go on a heater...or to see a guy hit a nice longshot..

JIBBBY they are not building anything from scratch. It was just a big lie to make us stay here for one more year. The real question is when they will turn the lights off now for good. Maybe after the Bullseye contest when they tell the winners there is no money to pay the prizes.
