Miles Bridges pleads no contest to felony domestic violence charge

Kaep takes a knee, big lead in news.
Bridges slaps around his partner, in front of her kids yet, gets a slap on the wrist.
I'm confused here. (That's sarcasm fellas)

Miles Bridges pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge Thursday and will face three years of probation and no jail time as part of a deal with prosecutors, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

“We believe this resolution was the best avenue to hold Mr. Bridges accountable for his conduct,” a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told The Athletic in an email. “We also understand through the victim’s representatives that the victim wanted an expedited resolution of the case. The victim and her representatives were consulted about the proposed resolution and agreed with the outcome of the case. The District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Victim Services remains ready to aid the victims in the case.”

A restitution hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 13.

Bridges, a restricted free agent after playing for Charlotte since 2018, was arrested on June 29 and later charged with one felony count of injuring a child’s parent and two felony counts of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death. The felony charges also included an allegation of causing great bodily injury on the domestic violence victim, which was also dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

According to the criminal complaint, Bridges allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in front of their two children on or about June 27 and 28. The 24-year-old pleaded not guilty to all three charges at the time.

During his probation, Bridges will be required to complete 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling, 52 weeks of parenting classes, complete 100 hours of community service and undergo weekly narcotics testing with marijuana allowed only if there is a valid doctor’s prescription.

Bridges, a first-round pick in 2018 out of Michigan State, averaged 20.2 points and seven rebounds per game last season while helping Charlotte reach the Play-In Tournament.

blacks are automatically heroes in 2022... JUST IN WISCONSIN

when a black person killed my friend in the azana spa shooting, crickets

when a black person intentionally targeted white people in the christmas parade, it was the car that was the murderer (according to the news)

when a black person threatened to kill the mother of 2 children (jacob blake) and then threatened the lives of those children, and the police who were there to help, he's a sweet innocent victim

when a white person defends kenosha, and defends himself he is somehow a murdering scumbag

                OK, missed it.
I do watch in the mornings just to catch up on what happened on the west coast while I was sleeping.

Good on them for reporting the story, I missed it, they said nothing between 6am and 7am, I get most of my news from The Athletic these days, real time updates, from real time sports reporters and journalists.

                Thanks for checking in.

Nasher - he is not on ANY NBA rosters. I was hoping the Cavs could have picked him up somehow but whoever ends up signing him will have to deal with the NBA who will most likely suspend and fine him since he pleaded no contest. How long would they suspend him? That's anybody's guess but he was about to get $16.5 million GUARANTEED and at least $4 million a year for at least the next 4 years before he did this stupid shit. Now, he's not getting any guaranteed money from anyone and they probably will low ball him on a deal. Not sure how you think that was a slap on the wrist??? His partner and the kids also lost out on this deal.
