Yes, I was in the thick of it. I just remember being thrown all over. I was concentrating more on not falling on the ground than anything else.

There wasn’t THAT many nudes walking around. It was more girls flashing.

I was already gone by the time the fires started. I was at a friends house about a mile away and we could see and smell the smoke.

I haven’t seen this one but there’s an HBO series called Music Box and the first episode is Woodstock 99. The series is done by Bill Simmons and them, it’s really good too

Other episodes on Alanis Morrisette and the Jagged Little Pill era which I didn’t think I’d be interested in but it’s great, and an episode on Kenny G which was also unexpectedly great as well. DMX in there too, it’s a cool little documentary series

Watched the first two episodes. Looked like it was an absolute shit show. I think the comical part is the older people who were at and a part of Woodstock 69 thought it was going to be a giant peace and love festival when they had Korn, Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit.

1:27 in ...it was at this time that the promoters knew they fukked up. Korn went so hard Davis passed out after this set. Was also going through WD from kicking booze and drugs. Bizkit was at the height of their powers. Love how they got blamed for the disaster even though fukkin' the Chili Peppers were covering "Fire" while hundreds of people were starting fires.

The Metallica show was pretty good and wild. I’m surprised the documentary made no mention of it. I believe someone even died in the mosh pit.

Woodstock 99 kind of kicked started, or motivated, all the big the music festivals we have today.

This show brings back fond memories. From the waiting in line at the parking lot for a day just to get in, to the exurbanite prices for food and drink. It was great. As for food, there were these dudes walking around with grapefruit sized marijuana balls held together with marshmallows or something that was the best deal for food going around. They tried to keep the boozing contained to 1 fenced in spot until the 3rd day when the fence was gone. I mean an entire wooden fence that surrounded like 2 square miles was fully gone. Then the real partying started, and ended with the Chili peppers a fire, and eventually the coppers showed up to clear everyone out. It was like 100 degrees every day baking in the hot sun drinking and doing drugs. It took about a week just to recover from the abuse.
I remember the shows as being pretty good. We had Korn, Limp Biscuit, Offspring, Metallica all one after the other, the mosh pits were good. The second stage was good as well. Chicks were walking around naked but they were all painted up like they had clothes on. I don't know who does that painting but it is very well done and you really have to look to see if the bitch is naked. Thankfully I didn't see any dudes doing the same.

I remember this very well watching the entire festival on bootleg PPV at the time. One of the best music lineups ever assembled with the exception of Sheryl Crow.
