#39yankees are in deep shit. i know keep saying it but i see it day by day living here in NYC so I want to stress it to non NY guys. don't fall in love with them. even if/when they come out of it that is just a hot streak, not who they really are. boone is already sweating.Comment -

Hal and Cashman just signed him to a three year deal, Hal (the shot caller) has always loved him.
They're not going to shit can him, maybe after year two of the three year contract they signed him to, but he's safe for this year and next.Comment -

#44Boone has the answers, the problem is the answers aren't producing.
Take away Stanton in that lineup, Judge sees less pitches to smack out.
Even without Stanton that's still an All Universe lineup that stopped hitting, that's not on Boone, I pay attention, Boone's in game managing has not been a problem, he hasn't made very few, if any, bad managerial decisions.
You could have Sparky Anderson running a dugout, but if his dugout quit hitting, and his pitchers are getting smacked, there's nothing a manager can really do.
I don't think anybody on these boards are more heavy into analytics and metrics, and sabermetrics than me, but I'm still part 'old school' too. There are times to let the LH hitting slugger who normally can't hit LH pitching for shit, get up there against the LH reliever because your sluggers has been on a tear lately, and you play that hunch.
Same applies when your lineup has totally quit hitting all of a sudden.
I'll throw out the book of excel spreadsheets, and databases, all the metrics, flush in the toilet and shake things up.
Put nine names in a hat, pull them out, first name out of the hat hits leadoff, etc. etc.
Time for Boone to shake it up, but none of this slump is really on him.Comment -

#45Yanks will snap out of this slump at some point. Knowing when that point happens is the big question? Maybe today at home or maybe next week and next series?Comment -

The secret to it is easy, spot and get on it right as it's developing, and get off exactly when it's about to end.
It's one thing to say it, it's all together another thing to do it.

#59^Trends and match ups matter in MLB but it's all about what have you done for me lately! I hate weighing in on season trends for anything. Last ten or five games works for me and tells the story for any team and where they are at. Who's hot and not!Comment -

You ride trends until they pop and then back off when they do pop. That's always my MLB gambling strategy! Won't touch the Yanks for a while. They may heat up now but I won't bet on it. Gotta wait and see?Comment
