FanDuel $1000 in free bets promo
So if you bet $1000 and lose you get $1000 in free bets on your first bet.

So would -500 line risk $1000 mean I get $1000 in free bets because I risked $1000 or is it only the win amount? ($200)

It's the risk to win. You want to bet a dog though. You would get the 1,000, was cash but I think they changed it to freeplay.

It's the risk amount, but that would be a terrible use of a (not quite) risk-free shot.

General example: Play a big favorite overnite $3000 to win $1000 somewhere else. The next day hope the line moves up play your risk free $1000 to win $3000. Hope the chalk wins and you keep the free play.

The best strategy really depends upon how many risk free plays that you plan on getting from all books.

Waterstpub is right. The value in the promo comes from the freeplay, so you get more EV the bigger the dog you bet.

Assuming there is no juice, and line is accurate:

A +100 dog will win half the time for $1000 and lose half the time for 0 (-1k for the bet and +1k for the promo) for an ev of $500
A +300 dog win 1/4 of the time for $3000 and lose 3/4 of the time for 0 for an ev of $750 (3000/4).

The example is not 100% accurate because you have to somehow know the value of the freeplay, but the basic principle is that the bigger the dog, the higher your +EV.

The other thing is, if you lose and you could $1,000 free bets, you don't have to use it all at once. You can break it up however you want.

This isn't as good as it used to be, where they'd give you bonus cash instead of freeplays.

Bonus cash. So you bet 1000 you win get nothing
Lose. You get a 1000 in free play. But you can't cash out till you play the 1000. In anyway you want.
So if you bet that second 1000 on even money to make it simple. Your balance is only 1000 u can withdraw it.
                                  Unless they changed it
