Looks like it got pumped up on the IPO:
AMTD Digital Inc. ("AMTD Digital" or the "Company") (NYSE: HKD), a comprehensive one-stop digital solutions platform headquartered in Asia, and a subsidiary of AMTD IDEA Group (NYSE: AMTD; SGX: HKB), expressed its appreciation of support from the investor community for the successful completion of its initial public offering ("IPO") of 16,000,000 American depositary shares ("ADSs") at a price of US$7.80 per ADS. The Company's ADS trading in NYSE is still undergoing our initial stabilisation period whereby the underwriters have been granted a green-shoe option, exercisable within 30 days from the date of the final prospectus, to purchase up to an aggregate of 2,400,000 additional ADSs at the public offering price, less underwriting discounts and commissions.
During the period since our initial public offering, the Company noted significant volatility in our ADS price and, also observed some very active trading volume. To our knowledge, there are no material circumstances, events nor other matters relating to our Company's business and operating activities since the IPO date. The Company is also monitoring the market closely for any unusual trading activities or abnormalities, and would continue to maintain our communication channel wide-open to the public through our Investor Relations Office (contact number: +852 3163-3389; EMAIL: ir@amtdigital.com).

As fast as it can be manipulated up, someone will make it crash back down somehow.

This is a definite rig job, the owners and underwriters of the HKD were able to move it higher due to low number of shares in Singapore,
but it's not going to last, because AMTD (AMTD Idea) owns 90% of HKD (AMTD Digital) at 8.00, with 462m shs out, The HKD (AMT is 1500 X 1800 now, it is an ADR (american depository receipt) at a ratio of .4/1 to the Singaporean HKD shares.
They have both been halted many times.Very likely to be investigated by the authorities... partial quote from Dow Jones newswire this afternoon --"The company issued Tuesday a "Thank you note" to investors and a response to the "significant volatility" in the stock since the IPO. "To our knowledge, there are no material circumstances, events nor other matters relating to our company's business and operating activities since the IPO date," AMTD Digital said in a statement. The company said it was also "monitoring the market closely for any unusual trading activities or abnormalities."
This is a criminal act, but that's up to the SEC to pursue or not. their market makers /underwriters did this by squeezing the float on HKD, but allowing for a huge market cap on AMTD. but who knows if SEC will do anything about it, they are corrupt so.. if you want to watch it watch AMTD not HKD, it will probably drop back to a couple dollars. As I type it's barely 7.50 from 8's... HKD might get de-listed entirely, because there is obvious rig to list both when one is 90% of the other and nothing else.
