Why doesn't he play more? Seems like an afterthought in Yankees lineup.

He definitely deserves to play more than Joey Gallo.

The most mind boggling, unfathomable Joey Gallo stat is...
Pay attention all to this gang.

This is Gallo's eighth season, has played in exactly 700 games.
Gallo has 2656 career plate appearances, and averages 25 taters give or take a season, 168 career homeruns to be precise.

In those 2656 pate appearances, Gallo has a grand total of TWO sacrifice flies.
                            TWO!
This is no Punch and Judy hitter, this is not a ground ball hitter, as he has hit into only twelve double plays in his career.
Gallo is a big fly ball hitter (when he's not striking out)

Mind boggling that only two of his fly balls have resulted in a sac fly RBI,

I remember reading not long ago, that Joey Gallo had the highest HR/Hit ratio in baseball history. It was like 38%.

Joey Gallo is Billy Beane's worst nightmare, and I agree with Billy.
Gallo is so one dimensional it's ridiculous.
Can't hit for average, .202 lifetime is pathetic.
Can't get on base, .328 career OBA is way below league average.
And he's guaranteed to strike out 200 times a season if playing full time.

So what we have here is a guy who can't hit for average, can't get on base, will strike out at least once a game, sometimes twice.
And for a guy that has parked 168 homers, he should have closer to 560 career RBI's, not 360.
168 homers and 360 RBI's suggest a lot of them are solo shots.

He's the kind of player only Manfred loves, anyone else who is a baseball savant will tell you Gallo is everything that is wrong with baseball.

Yep, 168 hrs out 450 hits for 37.3%

In 2017 he had 41 Hrs out of 94 hits

Too bad his career BA is .202

I was bettin that he struck out.
