                          I think starting line ups is useful in soccer where the subs are permanent and limited so you need to know who is starting and who is on the bench. Also see the formation to determine if is defensive or offensive formation.

                          But in basketball they are useless as the starters can be subbed at any time and they may play less minutes than bench players if they get in to foul trouble.

                              It's not useless for tonight's game.
                              A ton of bench players are hurting too, you need to know who's availabe.
                              Miami subs a lot except for Bam and Butler, they get 32 and more minutes a game.
