Yeah, ive heard that but i don't buy it. There's a huge difference (in my opinion) between being addicted to smack to being addicted to chocolate, sex or gambling. Mind over matter. I've been betting pretty much all my life and I've never taken a loan our to cover losses....i don't bet bingo or the lottery cause i couldn't get down on a bet. I also snort coke every once in a while and even go on binges but can right the ship. I guess my mind is stronger than others i dunno

Alcoholics similar. But i stand by my mind over matter comment. If you have something to live for , something to look forward to , you can overcome any addiction or curb it at least. Some of us are just far too selfish to do so...Comment -

#39Well, based on my knowledge, a heroin addict can't because of withdrawal - his or her body and neurons cannot deal with the lack of heroin . They have to take other drugs to substitute it and go through withdrawal to get reset the effect the addiction has done to the body and mind. I once flirted with benzo addiction and the withdrawal literally almost killed me.

Am i addicted to that? Ok sure. But losing changes that real quick. Imagine if we thought we could actually beat the booksthat we could recoup the decades of losses this year ....THAT shit is like smack.
Bet for the rush, you're not getting out of this alive, anyway....i think hunter s Thompson said something similarComment -

#41Or like the movie Two for the Money says, were addicted to losing because when we lose we realize that we'll be alright - it's just money. I'm not saying gambling addiction does exist. I'm saying it's manageable. During the pandemic a lot of us were saying how good it felt to not gamble. We'll likely all come back to betting , even after long breaks.
That doesn't mean we'll pawn our sisters necklace and refinance our mortgage...Comment -
