Good example, I think it was in 2014 it was the year after FSU won the title in football, and right before Clemson started being in the top 4 every year
Louisville beat FSU like a drum and had Clemson the next week general thanking was Clemson was in trouble, line comes out and if I remember right Louisville was getting points it looked like the easiest pick of the year, then Clemson blow them out.
The Reason I remember this game, I lost a lot of money, an expensive lessonComment -

#44I think everyone knows what gambling is. Regarding betting it is not that easy, but you could summarize the relationship between gambling and betting as follows:
In sports betting squares pick winners, sharps pick positive expected value. Without being aware of it, mathematically the former do what gamblers do in a casino - while the latter invest in virtual assets being undervalued by the market. Even though sharps do their job by far more mathematically sound than investors at the stock market, the broad audience refers to both groups, squares and sharps, simply to as "gamblers" (while gamblers at the financial market are called "investors"). Since squares form the overwhelming majority in sports betting (not so in the money wagered), the term "gambler" is at least empirically correct to a certain degree (and would probably be so at the financial market, too).Comment -

#48All betting involves gambling, but not all betting involves gambling.
The definition of gambling:
To take risky action in the hope of a desired result.
You walk up to the roulette wheel.
There's always a risk of losing, and you can win only by luck.
The last winning number has absolutely no effect on what the next winning number will be.
Random numbers are just that, random.
Betting however, can be coordinated in a way to minimize risk, while winning through data driven strategies.
Sports betting can be modeled and treated like a business, something which can't be done with gambling.
Sports bettors, the successful one spend a lot of time studying and researching historical data to create strategies.
Gambling, like my example on roulette is a game of chance purely built on personal desire to win.
Gamblers rely on luck.
Bettors make sure they have an edge.
That's the difference.
But most of all Betting is really related to our friend Bigfoot. Betting broken down is Betty enjoys training tennis imbeciles not gnomes. Because as you i know already gnomes are just too short for tennis. They try so hard but they just suck.
Gambling is also as you know Groovy Awesome Magnificent Bigfoot Lives In Nearly Garage meaning no matter where you go he is always close to home. Close to your heart.Comment -
