Who is Max Meyer? NL ROTY $2000 @ +5000
If you didn’t know Miami Marlins top prospect Max Meyer, you’re aware of him now.

A bettor in Tennessee is taking a chance on the young right-hander to win the National League Rookie of the Year honor.

Keep in mind Meyer is still pitching in Triple-A.

    Love it.

He will be the Marlins #1 or #2 starter by 2023

        95% of teams do that.

Miami didn’t do it with their last blue chip righty, Jose Fernandez.

I think they get an extra full year of Max if they don’t bring him up until June.

He’s not MLB ready as of now. They just had him make his first start on regular “MLB” rest.

With that said, he’s been busy striking out Ronald Acuńa Jr all week during Acuńa’s rehab

          Really good pitcher...HOWEVER

No way he wins NL ROY with Suzuki out there...then there is Gore pitching now for SD too (assuming he stays in the rotation, but if he pitches well like he already is, he will be fine)

Don't think it's a horrible bet but just don't see it at all unless he puts up video game numbers

Hunter Greene if he can keep his #'s low since he won't be winning 20 or anything. He also will need to command that fastball location better. You can throw 101 or 102 all you want but if you can't place it........also needs his secondary pitches to get better or more effective. I'd say he's a leading candidate.

I don't know if he was out of sorts or what last start...but he was only hitting around 96/97, no clue but that's a big velo loss.
              4-5 mph, yikes

Hmmm. Interesting. Wonder if they coached that? Or, tired arm? Its difficult for a rookie to pitch from behind/tied all the time. If the Reds got him a few leads it changes the dimension of how successful he could be.

Who knows how much of it is BS or what, but it does sound kinda "coached" or "wasn't himself" but topping out at that last start was odd to me no matter what...

Even if they told him tone it down, dropping 4-5mph is something

Suzuki is obviously the favorite but his .448 BABIP will come down to earth soon (league average being around .300).

But I thought as soon as you win one bet the USA books limit you to $20 bets??? This guy in Tennessee must have never placed a winning wager there before.

He’ll probably be terrible forever because he had a rough first start.

He might do well, but no way he wins ROY.

Fangraphs on Max Meyer’s MLB debut:

He didn’t light up radar guns or dominate, but Meyer had a debut that showed off his uniqueness.

Will have Tommy John surgery within the next 2 weeks. Confirmed.
