Did u see the match? Can it be posted somewhere? I did some wrestling in NJ high school but I wasn't really good. I just kind of did it to stay in shape during the winter. That is a tough sport. There is something about that that takes u to the next level. I guess that is about in every sport. NJ has some good wrestling so I follow it. I bet Glory is pissed but he went against the best.

Thought the Finals were lame. Penn St is good, but they're very tactical. Ramp up the stalling calls, make em wrestle.

Ref had no problem stalling out Suriano, almost cost him the match.

Dean and Gable stalled it out. I thought Gable would be tactical, giving up a good bit of wt to Schultz.

Suriano never wrestled Glory in high school while at powerhouse BERGEN CATHOLIC ....although their teams wrestled every year.Glory was always a weight class or 2 above Nicky....congrats Nicky well done

I really think the next step for wrestling is a more well-defined Stalling rule. I like the 5-count that they use, should have to take Action or pick up a Stall call.

Don't know about that. You just said yesterday that it would be 8-2.

See my other post. Need for stricter Stalling call. The Finals were lame, almost no action.

Some of this ties to the Penn State success. The HC is a very smart tactician. He knows how to kill off a match.

Take the Bravo Young vs Desanto series, as an example. Desanto initiated MOST of the action. But he lost by 1 or 2 6x in a row.

Goldy, I think you made a good point. Suriano got the early lead. Suriano looked gassed late, was just holding on.

Suriano would be a clear Fav any time they met. But Glory almost pulled it out.

My main takeaway from this tournament was that it's too tactical. The Stalling call seems to impact most close matches.

They changed the Stalling rule a few years ago. I think they need to address it again, need more action.

Goldy, I reviewed match. Glory injury at end of 2nd period hurt him. That gives choice to Suriano, who he selected Down.

3rd period might have played out differently, if Glory was able to start Down and get Escape. Suriano did nothing in 3rd period. Stoppage at 9:44 is lame, too, let em wrestle. Was close to getting back-pts, and ref should have stalled out Suriano.
