Most would prefer not to be forced to shop at Amazon. i think gift cards would have drastically killed contest participation.

What is the hold up of opening the store? Keep in mind that this is an online store that already has infrastructure in place.

I have seen Brick & Mortar stores being renovated from scratch and ready to open with merchantise in less than 6 months.

I have seen Walmarts being built from ground up in less than 6 months and operate.

At this point it looks like we will send a man on Mars before the store will open.

OK while I still do not have an ETA for store re-opening, I do have some clarity:

The USA Stores and non-USA Stores will look very similar, meaning merch will be in Non-USA unlike before

BTC is coming back and will be available for BOTH USA and non-USA

There is a chance BTC will not be available immediately when the store opens, but IF that is the case, it would not be long until it is.
