#37Nasher can you post your bets in $ form instead of units? Can you give us your record in American terms instead of constantly posting what you like? As far as I can tell you are not close to being ahead. Or you may be close to being even.Comment -

1* is a traditional 100-dollar flat bet.
My MLB bets are almost always in the 50-to-100-dollar range.
That's not big time I know, but MLB is a 6 month grind, 28 weeks x four to six bets a week equals about 180 bets give or take.
I don't have Warren Buffet's bankroll to make 500 to 1000 dollar wagers.
I've been writing MLB here at SBR for 11 years now, the old-timers know how I bet.
Tuesday (all this is posted in you recall)
Boston .5 (actually is was 40 to win 49 at +122)
Won 49 dollars (Actually won 48.80) any fraction =>.50 gets rounded up to the nearest dollar, any fraction < .50 gets rounded down to the nearest dollar. For accounting purposes +49
Also had total .5 (54 to win 50) wager over 8
Push
6-2 final (heartbreaker push, NYY scored a garbage run in the ninth to push it to 8)
That's gambling though, I don't make excuses or cry over a loss, I win my share of suck outs, and I lose my share of bead beats.
Part of the game. If you cry about that stuff you need to find a new hobby.
I won that Xander Bogaerts prop wager (over 2.5 total bases) for 50
WednesdayI had no play in that LAD/STL play in game.
I thought (and I was correct) LA would win a close one, they did. But my policy is don't bet any singular baseball game at -200 or greater
I wrote (scroll back two days, you'll find it) I was looking for an angle, any angle, to fade LAD and could not find one. So I passed totally.
I have an active 1* (110 to win 100) series bet with the White Sox that's currently on life support.
Astro pitching is proving me wrong there. Oh well, been wrong a few times before in the past, and I will be wrong a few more times in the future. That much I can guarantee.
I have an active .50 wager on Burnes and the Brews in this game here.
2-1 Brews here, I need to fade one more inning.
I also have an active 1* (145 to win 100) series wager with the Brews to win this series
(to be continued, like I said I have to fade one more inning right now)
I have zero action, as in not a penny on the Sox/TB affair.
Love to see Boston win it, but TB is too solid.
So....
As of right now 7:00pm Friday
1-0 game bets +49 dollars
0-0-1 (push) on total bets + 0 (well duh) dollars
1-0 on prop bets +50 dollars
Pending two series bets.
And tonight ...
Wait for it ...
Wait for it ...
Gausman and SF + 101 (50 to win 50) to win game 1
Like I said I just walked in.
At the orthopedics all day, that's what happens after you turn 40, your hip and knees go bad, mainly from playing sports for 18 years into my mid 20's. Joints break down.
And had to take my wife slipped a disc in her back, so she's laid up.
What did Pete Townshend sing "I hope I did before I get older"
Best of luck to ya

#40Yesterday's LDS Fun Facts
Four LDS games.
First pitch was at 2:09 pm EST
Final out was made 12:16 am EST
10 hours and seven minutes of real time baseball
607 total real time minutes
There were 1102 total pitches thrown to 291 batters.
Those 291 batters accounted for 70 total hits of which resulted in 40 runs scored, 13 homers, 22 walks, and 78 stirke outs.
A right handed batter (Buster Posey) hit a ball into McCovey Cove.
Justin Luplow hit a grand slam in the first inning, and never got another at bat for the rest of the game.
Before that first inning grand slam Mr. Luplow had a grand total of zero grand slams in his career.
Not only that, Luplow's team lost the game after hitting the first inning grand slam.
Must be pretty hard to do considering in 119 postseason years it's never happened before.
Kike Hernandez of the Red Sox had four extra base hits in yesterday's post season game.
Yaz never had four extra base hits in a post season game, neither had David Ortiz, nor Ted Williams, nor Wade Boggs, neither has Nomar, and Jim Rice, and even Carlton Fisk.
Know how many times Kike had four extra base hits in a regular season game?
If you guessed zero, you're both smart and correct.
The Red Sox as a team collected 20 hits in that postseason game.
Know how many times they collected 20 hits in a regular season game this season?
Zero times.
If the Red Sox collected 20 hits in yesterday's game that means the Rays pitchers allowed 20 hits.
That's how math works.
Before yesterday's postseason game you know how many times the Rays pitchers allowed 20 hits in a regular season game this year?
Come on I bet you can guess?
I got a dozen more.
OK, one last one and I'll move on to yesterdays recap and my pick for tonight.
Corbin Burnes of the Brewers opened the 2021 regular season facing 126 batters before he walked one.
He opened up last night's post season game by walking the first two batters he faced.Comment -

#41Yesterday's recap and Today's pick
Had SF and Mil for .5* or 50 USD for those of you keeping at score at home.
(and I know you are)
They both clicked for a 2-0 100 USD day.
My posted and verified post season record is:
3-0 +1.5* (149 USD) on sides
0-0-1 (0.00 USD) on totals
1-0 +.5* (50 USD) on props.
I have an open White Sox pending series bet that's pretty much dead.
(but you never know)
I have an open Brewers pending series bet that's pretty much alive.
(but you never know)
TODAYS PICK
I'm riding the SF Giants again +108 (line and bet courtesy of the good folks from Heritage)
.5* (50 USD to win 54 USD)
As long as the line makers keeps on making SF home dogs, I'll just keep on betting them.
Giants are my play of the day.
After I poop maybe I'll tell you all about the fun facts in yesterday's White Sox post season game.

#42Tonight's play
BOSTON -118 TAMPA
Momentum shifts to Boston and the Sox
Plus Eovaldi has been dirty most all season,
.5 * (59 USD to win 50 USD) for those of you keeping score at home, and you know who you are,
Yesterday's play (SF) was a bad one as that lost miserably.
That can be verified in post #41.
POSTSEASON RECAP
(if you look really hard you can verify all this for yourself, hell, you don't even have to look really really hard)
My posted and verified post season record is:
3-1 + 0.99 * (99 USD) on sides
0-0-1 (0.00 USD) on totals
1-0 +.5* (50 USD) on props.Comment -

#43It usually works like this. Today I bet $ amount + or - and the odds and then you add it up or minus it when the games(s) are done.
You talk foreign languages like English that no one with a high school degree can understand. I can't figure how you add up your record. Go over every game when it is done and do the math. Then prove and show how you recorded it.Comment -

I've been posting baseball here for eleven years, you've been in here 15 minutes.
You would think after eleven years if I tried anything 'funny' it would have been exposed.
In my eleven years my integrity has rarely been challenged.
On those rare occasions it has been it's been by ghost accounts (like you) or by posters that have zero integrity.
Foreign languages?
I thought I was writing in English.

#47OK I call the bookie or do it online. Give me the Giants at -145 for $50. Then I post online what my bet was. Try doing something like that so we all can keep track because it never happens with you. Then you say my record is blah blah. Where was the bet you posted? I like this and that and then say you won is very ghosting. Yeah you're top poster but there is no proof of what your bet was. Last post to me because I'm trolling someone online in a public forum that follows what they post but never gives the facts correctly.Comment -

It was the White Sox but that's PPD
Since it's PPD I don't get credit for a win or a loss.
See?
That's how it works.
Let's recap yesterday now.
In post #42 I said Boston would beat Tampa.
I said the line was I was wagering 59 dollars to win 50 dollars.
The Red Sox won.
I won 50 dollars, says so right there, before it happened too.
That's the way it always has been, for the past 11 years now.
I think Casper the Friendly Ghost gets confused easily by facts.
That's what happens when one uses drugs, their reading comprehension skills diminish.
So, with the Red Sox win yesterday...
My posted and verified post season record is:
4-1 + 0.99 * (149 USD) on sides
0-0-1 (0.00 USD) on totals
1-0 +.5* (50 USD) on props.
