The boyfriend kiss pretty much sealed Sam's fate. As long as he didn't put this out there on front street he might've gotten an actual shot. Better yet he should’ve just waited until he got his 1st decent contract to come out.

Haha this is exactly what I texted my buddy. We have a running bet since 15’ that Rodgers is gay. I got 5-1 odds at 2k. If he has a kid, or dies before coming out, I lose.

Sam was good in College because Kony Ealy made him look good doing all the legwork. I think scouts saw through that, all things considered, hence why Ealy is still in the league (even if its just the CFL).

Not really that surprising he didn't make it in the NFL. Expected everything to be given to him. Plenty of other athletes had the drive that he didn't.

His skillset suited one type of defensive scheme. Not strong enough to be Defensive End, too slow to be Linebacker.

His extremely poor Combine was more to do with him being a 7th round pick then any sort of knowledge about his sexuality, although that may have contributed a bit. At best he was a 5th or 6th rounder anyway. Even if he was still in the closet before the draft his chances of staying in the NFL were slim to none.

As for this guy, he might hang around for a bit longer. Seems like a good dude and doesn't have the drama attached to him the way Sam does. Just needs to stay away from ESPN who will probably hire him when his playing days are over.
