Anyone collect sports cards?

Look into sports card breaks. They are a good way to get in on expensive products for a decent price. They are a gamble and the luck of the draw but you can hit big sometimes if you draw the right teams.

For baseball, I'm all over Tatis probably spent 2-3k on various PSA 10 of him and also have a few Juan Soto and Ronald Acuna. I'd like to get a few more of the latter before the prices get out of control.

Basketball heavily invested in Luka. Few others I like but not a ton invested in any other current players.

Football, I'd like a Mahomes but I missed the boat on the ones i want..might bite the bullet one of these days..maybe if they don't win Superbowl this year there might be an opportunity to buy at a fair price in the offseason. Not that invested in football but did open quite a bit of product from this year.

Also have quite a few young soccer like Haaland, Fati, Greenwood, Rashford, Havertz, Sancho.

No album. Nothing that amazing when you consider the value of some of his rare cards but have the prizm and mosaic silver prizm and hoops rookies psa 10 and few others lower valued ones.

I'm telling you guys there is money to be made short and long term if you get a bit of knowledge.

Growing up i had a shoe box full of old baseball and football cards from what my dad passed down to me. Dad bailed with the divorce and I was like 12 years old and we had a garage sale one weekend after.

I thought let me sell all these old cards and try to get $20 bucks for them. One guy came and looked in the shoe box full of cards and his eyes lit up gave $20 bucks and ran off so fast smiling. I didn't understand what I did. I do now.

True story.. If I had all those cards today they'd probably be worth a million bucks combined. We are talking original rookie cards in good condition from all the hall of famers in baseball and football... I remember.

Still kicking myself in the ass thinking back about that.. Errrrrr!

I know what you mean....I had a few PSA 9 Luka's Silver Prizm Refractors before the huge boom. Sold them for $600 a piece since I always wanted a Jackie Robinson Leaf card. Would love to pick up few graded Tatis Jr Chrome Autos but not willing to pay 2K for one.

Also got a bowman chrome Walker buehler psa 10 rookie card for pretty cheap I feel nobody has quite seen his potential could be wrong of course tho as well as I got a few Kyle Lewis auto rookies and a psa 10 vladimir Guerrero jr rookie psa 10 it’s all built mostly on hype I try and invest in players I feel will explode then plan to sell I’m telling yah feel it’s a good time to get some Brady shit after his documentary hits he’s doing one like Jordan his shit will be doubling

Probably a waste of time to collect superstar rookie cards these days fresh out of the box and hold as there are so many different card companies now printing and producing cards.

I think the player card business is done going forward today with new cards. Only the cards of the past will become more valuable. Future cards from all the companies today are crap now and gonna be worthless.

A lot of ignorance in this thread. I am into high psa grade pre war cards. It is part of my portfolio. It is like fine art. I have about about 300k worth of high grade pre war PSA, I fluctuate from year to year on the different auctions.

The shelves at my Walmart and Toys R Us are completely bare of sports cards, all they have are these Magic the Gathering cards & Pokemon cards. I typically pass but diggity, you're saying there might be some value in these?
