muhammad ali vs smokin' joe frazier had storylines between the two fighters and a mystique surrounding the fights that clemson v notre dame simply doesn't have. no one is really a villain here. ali was a villain to many for dodging the vietnam war and joe was seen by many blacks as a tom. he wasn't, but ali put that out there. each fight was like a championship game.

here you have a reg season meeting, a conf title gm meeting, and then you'd have a meeting in the semifinals of the CFP. no one is unlikable on either team. dabo is awww shucks, trevor is a good kid, brian kelly is belichick-type boring, and ian book is solid but unspectacular. nothing much to see here.

i understand you're an irish fan but i am telling as much as the sun will rise tomorrow, the CFP committee is going to do everything possible to avoid a clemson v notre dame meeting in the semifinals of the CFP, and if clemson and ohio state both win by DD, it gives them the "clerical coverage" they are looking for.

I liked lackluster usc by 7 or more over Washington and their frosh qb. But now vs ore-gone I'm not feeling usc anymore. Ducks can play, when they want to. Good qb

Tomorrow night's usc v oregon essentially a meaningless conf title game. USC has no prayer of the top 4 unless multiple highly improbable things happen.
