Looking at this from afar one would conclude that was always their back up plan.

If it's close or Trump ahead....stall, figure out what you need to win, make it add up overnight. Afterall, you've got unopened mail!

Trump is the dealer with a face card showing. He checks under and sees a 7. Player has a 12 and says hit me. Trump says "no, I'm ahead, I win". Player calls manager who says he's entitled to hit so give the man his card. A 6 is flipped and player stays. Trump turns the table over and storms off.

That would only be true if the player demands his hit to be dealt face down and he will peek and tell you what it is.
