i wanted the sixers to do whatever they could to keep him for years. whenever i mentioned trading simmons and focusing on the embiid/butler combo to people, they were all like "arghhh naarrrrh, you're crazy dude shut up!"

now embiid and simmons are supposedly on the block, brown should and probably will be fired and the team in general is a mess. it always boggles the mind how people just can't put favortism and fandom aside to see the true reality of what helps a team.

I met Butler, twice during his time in Chicago. He did a lot of charity stuff with some entities I'm either on the board with, donate to, or am involved with events. The first time I was with him, he came off as a bit weird and off, entitled, short and disengaged. The 2nd and longer time I interacted with him, he was super friendly, gracious, and energetic. It was like two different people. It reminded me to take any reports on how some celebrity is an asshole or super "down to earth" by random people with a huge grain of salt. Any human is going to have huge shifts along the spectrum of their behaviors, especially people that get acosted in public a lot.

If I had to bet I would say he's not the kind to Vote at all. I think he'd like some of what Trump is about, as far as being direct, blunt, and practical. But Jimmy was and is pretty passionate about disenfranchised youth living in divested areas and ran with Chance the Rapper quite a bit here in Chicago so it wouldn't surprise me if he voted Libtard, gun to his head.

Coach is right Jimmy is a straight killer, he came up the hard way. He wasn't a silver spoon purebred pedigree draft pick and had to work his tail off to earn his minutes and gradually become a ball possession star. He started with straight up defense and man lock down when he was a rookie and gradually earned thib's trust before he started adding offensive skills to his arsenal

One of the best Butler stories came out well after he left Minnesota during that crazy fiasco with the inept and incompetent Timberwolves front office.

In the midst of demanding a trade out of Minnesota bc the owner didn't want to give him max deal $$(gave it to KAT instead), Butler played with the bench and 3rd stringers against Kat, Wiggins and the starting unit bc he wasn't in the starting lineup himself while waiting to be traded.

Everyone knows that he led the bench warmers and beat the sht out of the starters in a scrimmage while looking over and screaming at the front office idiots who were courtside that they made a mistake and immediately had a scheduled interview with an ESPN reporter who saw it all unfold.

But what wasn't rly mentioned was that Butler beat them without taking a single shot. That is truly remarkable and was missed by all the media morons reporting the sport without truly knowing it
