Do you think the $600 unemployment bonus is extended?

Well, if it doesn't, i'm gonna have a tough time paying rent/bills come september/october. However, one of the ideas they are throwing around that I like better, instead of just doing a flat $600, they will level it depending on the area you live. So Cali and New Yorkers would get an extra $750 and Nebraska and extra $200 for example

I'd be happy with that in conjunction with the unemployment bonus also. Only because there are certain industries where it just isn't possible to return to work. Such as mine. I work in the hotel industry in San francisco. Local government hasn't reopened hotels for leisure travel yet so a lot of places still closed and it isn't possible for me to get a job in my industry

I'm on furlough until at least October 1st so I wouldn't mind it. I'm prepared either way, but I can keep a lot more in savings with an extension. My company kept us employed through most of June with the PPP program. When that money dried up there was no other choice for them.

I doubt neither will happen. NJ has extended UE benefits from 26 weeks to 32 and now 52 in anticipation of this. Don’t think the senate is back from recess anyway

If they do anything, it will be near the end of the month. Trump has already gone on record saying he won't extend it, but prefers more of a back to work program. The one hope that it can be extended is the fact that it is an election year, IMO.

Yeah with this being an election year and the fact that there are 20 million without work, I can guarantee as the lock of the year that there will be some form of federal unemployment. I think they are going to get rid of the $600 to everybody scheme. That was always foolish, I rather think they will have a more graduated system more in line with the amount you made on your 2018 taxes. I also think they will toss some more cash to those who were making less than $100K again. Finally they will also get rid of the payroll taxes for the year in a retro-active move so all the people who have paid those now for the last 7 months will get a big fat refund in one of their checks. All this stimulus will happen right after the market takes a big enough dip to scare the shyt out of everybody.

I've notice that all the perspective employers are all low balling the salary compensation. I've been getting calls back but as soon as I hear what they are ready to offer, I just laugh and say I'll wait because you are just trying to feed on desperation.

Election year, both trying to get credit for anything... it will have different restrictions but certainly they should consider something. Most on both sides can get behind that. Booming economy wiped out by some foreign virus. Incredible times.

Well what had initially happened was the old lady got hers deposited in bank account then we both got letters saying we had received them. Obviously that was wrong so we called and they said I owed unemployment from like 4 years ago for taking a extra check after I was back at work so they supposedly stopped mine to pay that 320 and I was supposed to get remainder in 2-4 weeks. That was May, and just the other day I got another one those unemployment letters saying I still owed them 320 so I guess while they were forgetting to send mine they also must have decided not to pay the unemployment either.

It’s a big cluster fukk all cause last time I got unemployment they pissed me off and I never got check till right before I was back at freaking work so yea I claimed a week after I went back. 4 years later that apparently screwing me! It been way more than time they said now and fact I got another bill from unemployment last week screams I’m not getting anytime soon so we gonna try to look into it some more 2marro.
