Big Ten moving to conference-only model for all sports this fall
The fuk is this shit now.
The Big Ten decided on Thursday that a conference-only season for all fall sports, including football, is the most likely outcome, a source with knowledge of the discussions told ESPN. If college football can be played this fall, Big Ten presidents and athletics directors prefer playing a conference-only schedule, which would eliminate some long-distance travel and help ensure that their teams are being tested for coronavirus universally, multiple sources inside the league and around college football told ESPN.

If the Colleges will not play this season, why do you think that the Pro's will? With all the problems that the players and the owners have, it will be very difficult for any type of agreement to be reached.

The SEC soon to follow. They’re looking at an all conference schedule with ONE OOC game.

For the sake of argument, say they don’t cancel and all conferences do conference only games.
1) They’re going to have to adjust the playoff format to allow 8 teams in. Non-conf games are a big part of the equation.
2) Notre Dame becomes an interesting question since they’re non-conf.
3) If you deal with 8-team playoff, how do you deal with non-power 5s and the playoff?

Seems reasonable. Cut down on as much travel as possible. Heck mb take 3 diff busses of guys in case one gets rained and they all have to quarantine. Sucks for any team outside the Big12, Big10, SEC, ACC. If you are in any other conference you can go undefeated with a winning margin of 30+ and not get in the playoffs

They are already in the ACC... sort of. They have 5 or 6 ACC games this year. Just keep that on the books.

The virus is here to stay. You have almost 100 potential players on a squad. Just play the damn games. Better they be in a protected environment from the university than to cancel games and give them carde blanche to get the crap at a frat party.
