#10Well now ok that's rather intolerant.
He's right, everyone should STFU and let their actions speak.
Does Drew or Malcom do volunteer stuff in the community?
Does Malcom act as a leader to African American youth?
Do the elected leaders in these cities, most of whom are liberal, do they have a plan to mend the trust factors between the police and its union (also liberal in policies) and their constituents.
If we can't unite behind the flag or some other symbol of what the USA is I'm not sure how, in this politically divided world, we are ever to unite. There is absolutely NOTHING in common between the socio-economic and political situation in a City like Minneapolis or Chicag or Detroit versus their white suburban counterparts.
Truth is, white Americans have been fleeing areas inhabited by black folk because of the politics and social factors that are primarily negative indicators of quality of life. White Americans completely understand what black Americans think and want....they just don't agree with it because the concepts don't work because one thing is always missing....mortality.
I'm not taking Drew's side here, but what he's saying is that the moral thing to do is to unite behind the flag and the morality of the "idea" that is the USA. What black Americans are saying is no...we want change. But as black Americans what are you going to change? You gonna NOT vote for a liberal mayor, a liberal city council, a liberal police chief and union that donates to the Democrat party? Is Minneapolis and Chicago and Detroit going to suddenly be awash in conservative politics and States like MN and MI and NV and CA suddenly red with GOP leaders and representatives? Of course not, because the politics of liberals, completely embraced by African Americans since the 60s, are immoral and the systemic consequences of that are a breakdown of the black family, the black finances, the black value structure and of civilized society in black communities- as seen on TV nationwide.
If African Americans don't want to unite behind the flag, so be it...but their leaders better come up with something to get behind, because they sure as shit don't have any political solutions or financial solutions or family solutions.....Comment -

#25Malcolm x is a locker room cancer. Brees has done more for the community of new Orleans than any other player. He just recently donated 5 million to help ppl of the city...a predominantly black city. He's done more for the black community than the black players.Comment -

#26Drew Brees' apology...
I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday. In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused.
In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the national anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country. They lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy. Instead, those words have become divisive and hurtful and have misled people into believing that somehow I am an enemy. This could not be further from the truth, and is not an accurate reflection of my heart or my character.
This is where I stand:
I stand with the black community in the fight against systemic racial injustice and police brutality and support the creation of real policy change that will make a difference.
I condemn the years of oppression that have taken place throughout our black communities and still exists today.
I acknowledge that we as Americans, including myself, have not done enough to fight for that equality or to truly understand the struggles and plight of the black community.
I recognize that I am part of the solution and can be a leader for the black community in this movement.
I will never know what it’s like to be a black man or raise black children in America but I will work every day to put myself in those shoes and fight for what is right.
I have ALWAYS been an ally, never an enemy.
I am sick about the way my comments were perceived yesterday, but I take full responsibility and accountability. I recognize that I should do less talking and more listening...and when the black community is talking about their pain, we all need to listen.
For that, I am very sorry and I ask your forgiveness.Comment -

#35In Brees own words...
I condemn the years of oppression that have taken place throughout our black communities and still exists today.
I acknowledge that we as Americans, including myself, have not done enough to fight for that equality or to truly understand the struggles and plight of the black community.
Yeah... It's funny how many of you were quick to say Brees was SO RIGHT yesterday when talking about the flag.. He's great, He's a hero..
You boys THOUGHT you had some ammunition..
Today w/ his apology, all of a sudden Brees is a victim of the left. Those fans booing are ignorant.
Boys.. learn when to OWN your LOSS.. look in the mirror... your idiotic and shallow-minded way of thinking is quickly fading..
Many of you are just too weak, too stupid or both to realize that fact yet...
But it's starting to set in..Comment
