what sporting events do you guys like?

I mean the NFL is kinda cool but other than that what else is worth watching?

the NBA was boring AF yet again, I’m not canadian so I don’t know shit about hockey,
soccer is gay, baseball man I used to love it but with the shift and the opener it kinda blows, college football you know its same damn Bama vs Clemson championship before the season starts... everybody has like 1 maybe 2 hard games on the schedule max

Never excited about sports either, then god created gambling and suddenly sports had meaning.

The CFL game tonight was interesting. Calgary down by 11 with 2 mins to go in 4th and then lose their starter, so the backup QB comes in and they score a TD, then onside kick and score another and they win by 4.

Yeah, gambling isn’t even exciting anymore. I just want to win, and for the game to be over already. Been doing well with baseball, yet I rarely get excited. The walk off winner for Houston tonight got me going for like 5 seconds then back to thinking about the next play.

I find playoff hockey and world soccer events to be the only 2 things that really get me on edge of my seat. Crazy cause I’m really not a fan of soccer, lol.

Still enjoy baseball but wouldn’t call it exciting. Actually depressing since cardinals games majority of what I watch, lol.

NFL and nba are both blah, all the stupid rule changes, style of play, and refs dictating outcomes (in nfl especially) makes it tough to be all that interested in. Think I’m really gonna be off watching the nfl when these clowns start challenging pass interference.

I think 2 things are factors:

*As you get older other things become priority.

*And sports betting takes the 'fan' out of most of us, meaning the $ won/lost off of sports becomes more important to us.

Remember when Kurt Warner & the Rams burst on the scene in 2000?

My buddy and I were in Vegas in week 5.

We were watching games at The Excalibur and the Rams had just whipped a team to go 5-0.

The odds there were still something like 40-1 as other books had already dropped them. (This was the year & the team that ruined all astronomical future odds on teams in the future)

My buddy goes and places $100 on them.

I tell him he's crazy that it's the Rams and they will show their true faces soon.

But the longer I sit there and think about it the more I realize if he is right and ends up winning, I'd kick myself for not following.

So I do the same & throw $100 on them.

Fast forward to the NFC Championship game.

Tampa Bay vs those Rams.

I've been a die hard Bucs fan since I was 7yrs old.

So now I'm faced with rooting for my team to win and advance to the Super Bowl, or the Rams and a shot at unexpected $4,000. (Number may not be exact I'll have to look)

At one time it would have been a no-brainer and I'd be rooting for my team to win.

But that was the year I realized & understood how sports betting, over time, can take the 'fan' out of you.

I had a similar experience in Vegas years ago. Was watching 1998 Winter Olympic hockey from Nagano Japan. Canada was heavily favored vs Czech Republic and I was of the opinion that the Czechs could beat my nations team. So I talked my buddy into betting Czech +1.5 +200 and Czech moneyline with me. If Canada wins I'm ok because I hope they do well, if they lose I make money.

So we are sitting in the Caesars sportsbook surrounded by Canadians all cheering for team Canada and when Czech scored first me and my buddy jumped up cheering. We were the only two guys in a sea of Canadian fans cheering against Canada. Fast forward and Canada ties it late and game goes to a shootout so we were guaranteed a win on the +1.5 puckline and had a freeroll on the moneyline. Canada lost and I was pretty happy I won over $5k on the Czechs.

too many rule changes in every sport have made them soft. I mean you can't even break u a double play in baseball anymore lol wait till NFL this year when they change games reviewing pass interference calls- what a fuking joke this will be!!! This will be the worst rule change ever, mark my words!!

I know it's pretty specific, but I agree with Banker about NHL Playoffs.

That event has surpassed all others as far as excitement, until you get to the more rare events, like Usain Bolt or the World Cup.

Betting on that shit makes it even more exciting.

MMA is great. nfl and college football are great as regular season is relevant. Playoff in sports great at championship levels. World Series not as exciting if you don't care about either team. as a rule don't think its good to bet on your favorite team for or against. the bias works both ways.
