I want to float an idea out here
The time between bitcoin becoming a big thing to fund your offshore account, and legalized gambling. I remember buying bitcoin for 10 bucks a pop and funding my 5dimes account. Does anyone think these sportsbooks held onto these bitcoins as an investment to see where they were headed, instead of cashing them out very early on? If so they made 100s of millions if not billions. These books definitely have access to very smart people in the States. Investment strategists, financial planners.

i just took a peek at my circle account i sold bitcoin as early as 800 bucks a pop that i collected from offshore in january 2017

Trust me when I say bitcoin was never under $100 when fiat books started accepting them. I got into bitcoin late 2012, bought first bitcoin for $25 through coinbase. Big books like 5dimes did not accept them deposit/withdrawal until at least 2014/2015, $100+.

Back in the wild west days, bitcointalk gambling section, scams running rampant, bitcoiners used Bitbook (I miss this book) and a couple smaller books rhat were bitcoin only and relatively unknown. I remember placing 10 bitcoin on a few events back in the day. Crazy to think how much those coins are worth now today.

Agree. I dont remember buying bitcoin till they were around 80 bucks a piece. But 80 bucks to 10-20K if held onto is billions for a sportsbook

1st book I ever deposited any BTC was Americas Cardroom (Owned by Bookmaker)

Easy and quick but I still prefer Neteller.

Hard for books to maintain a blance sheet with the volatility of bitcoin value vs American dollar. As I see it thats why 5Dimes want bitcoin exclusive deposit/withdraw vs. cc or debit card deposit and bitcoing withdraw. They would have to buy bitcoin for everyone withdrawing via bitcoin and that can kick the shit out of the balance sheet, also could go the other way too.

The lowest I ever remember Bitcoin being was $400.

The reason it stands out in my mind because there were a few times I got payouts of for several bitcoins and being still somewhat new to it all I was a bit impatient waiting for the pending transfers as the price fluctuated.

Should have just saved them all lol

I was offered 10 bitcoins at $250 a pop around november 2013. I had the $ to invest, easily.

I suffer everytime I remeber that day.
