#8Hard to say why Apple is doing this. Their timing is peculiar.
The folks who could get ****** on this are IOS users on NJ mobile betting. My understanding is that NJ casinos have a deadline of September 1st to update their IOS platforms. If they don’t, does that mean bettors can’t place bets on an IOS device just before the football season? Boy, would that be a shit storm.
The bottom line for me is that providing a partial mobile platform is better than no platform. All my devices are Apple and I’m prepared to purchase a cheap android device for the sole purpose of betting until casinos are ready for IOS.Comment -

#9The Rivers Casino plans to launch its online sports betting website and app on a test basis Tuesday, enabling gamblers watching games on their sofas, in bars, at an arena or anywhere else in Pennsylvania to get wagers down quickly.
The North Shore casino is following in the steps of an affiliated Rush Street-owned property, SugarHouse in Philadelphia, which in late May began operating Pennsylvania’s first legal online site for use through computers, phones and other devices. Parx Casino, in suburban Philadelphia, on Monday afternoon began offering the second site under testing supervised by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
The Rivers testing period at BetRivers.com will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight Tuesday and 2 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, said Mattias Stetz, chief operating officer of Rush Street Interactive, which runs the online platform for both Rivers and SugarHouse. Permanent operations will begin Thursday if the gaming board is satisfied with operations such as its handling of financial accounting, customer interaction, responsible gambling features, and controls designed to ensure bets are placed only by those who are within Pennsylvania and at least 21 years old.
During the test periods and afterward, bets will be available on all of the same sports, with all of the same options, as has been the case since the casino’s own physical sportsbook opened in December. The casino has been handling about $9 million monthly in sports wagers placed in person, and that number is expected to be surpassed by online betting.
Mr. Stetz declined to state how many individuals have signed up for SugarHouse accounts through playsugarhouse.com. Those same individuals could also deposit funds through checking accounts, ************, debit cards, PayPal and other means to open Rivers or Parx online accounts. They could in coming months do the same at six more casino sportsbooks expected to add digital operations.
In the case of the Rivers, SugarHouse and Parx, the odds on games won’t be any different, as their point spreads and other betting options are all created by the same European-based firm, Kambi.
Players can take advantage of marketing promotions at each site, however. Mr. Stetz said that just like SugarHouse, the Rivers will match any deposit up to $250 made by new players, essentially doubling their initial funds for wagering.
One snag, however, is that unlike Android phones, Apple’s iPhones are apparently months away from allowing new gambling-related apps, due to new coding requirements the company has imposed. “We will launch the app as soon as Apple approves the app,” Mr. Stetz said. “We are also working on an alternative solution which we’ll launch soon.”Comment -

edit: Parx has has the $250 risk free bet as well. If you lose your first bet, up to $250, you'll get a free bet to match. Free bet must be used within 10 days and in one bet, cannot be divided up. Standard stuff.
