First time ever hedging paid off - check the luck
So I was on MLS ny redbulls +.5 live bet (even +100) for $10 (my standard unit) in like the 10th minute of the game at 0-0. They scored twice and were up 2-0 starting the second half. I was honestly tired at that point and have gotten crushed when I bet MLS in the past so decided to check the line. Philadelphia ml was +900 so I bet $2 so that I would come out $8 ahead either way. Normally this would be throwing away $2 but I was tired and just wanted to turn the game off without sweating it. I checked the score this morning and Philly came back and won 3-2. There's no point to this post just wanted to point out how crazy the MLS is and how lucky I got here. Just had to laugh checking that scoreline

I was gonna hedge my bet with thiem and didn’t, glad I didn’t now.

                I have a parlay of: Raptors -3 /game 4(WON), Barty Women’s WTA final(WON), and Nadal Men’s ATP final (WON) that pays 14.5-1

I also have $100 to win $1100 on Raptors winning 4-1 series. Seriously thinking about hedging the GS moneyline tonight.

Hence the 4-1 bet before the series lol, but when you get nice ML vs big future, you gotta go sure money right?

                          Good point

But one thing you must do in advance, is ask yourself how pissed/upset you will be if you don't hedge, and lose, walking away with zilch.

Yeah, the dealbreaker for me was the luck of them being up 2-0. Normally you'd never be able to guarantee yourself 80% profit of your original bet, I was just lucky an underdog went up 2-0 at halftime. Normally when hedging is possible it'd be making a tiny amount which is basically a push so people are more likely to let it ride because they placed the original bet in the first place.

I am more pissed when I hedge and the original bet wins than I am when I don't hedge and the bet loses.

Much depends on how much money is at stake.

I don't even think about hedging if it is a normal wager. Only when I bet over my head and I am scared shitless usually...LOL
