A lot of us don't have insurance, I imagine you DID, may I ask what Out of Pocket Cash that illness caused. Also what would've happened if you personally had No insurance?

#2People ask how I feel all the time...
I basically have a tally on how much it’s costed insurance. And to date, I feel like 1.5 million dollars.
Out of pocket expenses are what they deem not “medically necessary”. Shower chairs, commode chairs, stair lifts for the house, van with ramp. Not sure how it’s not medically necessary to take a dump... Basically out of pocket has been roughly $70-80k. Not including the actual insurance deductible also.
All in all I feel blessed and keep seeing great gains weekly.Comment -

#11That’s the big issue with how severe I ended up getting. The doctors said every case that got this bad, people simply didn’t survive. My age and active lifestyle played a big roll in surviving this terrible virus. Timeline of recovery due to that is completely unknown. So I just focus on doing everything I can and rest and recover. So far they are amazed at the consistent progress without any show of a plateau. It’s also attitude. Sure, I absolutely hate certain things, and I glad I do so it continues to drive me. But to give thanks and appreciate all of the blessings drives me more.

#25Baldy please shut your cockholster. It’s great that Bigday recovered, but the last thing he’s doing is winning money to cover out of pocket costs. He might be the worst gambler that has ever graced any forum in history. People don’t realize this, but Brock Landers is Billy Walters compared to Bigday. He’s gotta be a 15% lifetime winner. And you don’t gamble, Baldy. Your role here is to get the kiddies to gamble away their lawn mowing money, and lemonade stand money. So please STFU. This guy dealt and beat a life threatening illness. Nobody needs your dumb 5 cent per post comment in here.Comment -

But, Duck your what would have happened ? really tugs at the morality of America. You know after insurance paying for 1.5 million you would think 80k could be written off? People with no insurance do get cared for because a lot of people have insurance.
The reason this comment catches my interest is because I have sold policies subsidized by the Affordable Care Act (over 100) . Could easily make more commission working on other things because it it is barely profitable to work at. But, there is the morality of helping people. With 30 million Americans that have insurance that did not have it before there are a lot of claims getting paid that were not before. People criticize Obama Care but pro bono medical care can happen because providers can afford to do so.
I am amazed after 6 years how many people are unaware that a subsidy exists to help pay the premium for lower income workers. Group insurance can be declared unaffordable and a subsidy obtained. Sometimes, I get a subsidy of 10k or more for a customer who gets to me by work of mouth and it is obvious to me they should have pursued it a long time ago.
So, know there is a new band of unisureds. Just above the subsidy layer and unwilling to pay the premium. So, where should the cutoff point be for at least some subsidy help?
So, back to you Duck. Why don't you have insurance?Comment -
