No,I'm not saying its the most important thing I'm saying its just another situation that helps Boston. Last 5 years mean nothing. Rest is important late in the season. I've heard it said a million times by NHL coaches (that rest is important late in the playoffs) so I believe them over handicappers in the forum that say otherwise - no offense.

I know you're always looking for a reason to back the dog but in this case I disagree. I'm all in on Boston.
I'd bet Boston at -200 for the series without hesitation. I doubt I'll have to lay that much though.Comment -

Columbus. Out next round
Carolina. Out next round
Nyi. Out next round
I do agree Boston is the favorite deservedly so but I've never liked the layoff. It hurts you. It gets you out of rythym. Sure coaches are going to say that. They aren't going to say we only wanted a day off. Continuity is good. Keeps you sharp.Comment -

#111Ok, so lets say I reverse my belief and agree with you, I still say they get beat by Boston in less than 6 games because Boston has more than one advantage going in to the Finals.

I'm done arguing about this stuff though. Smart bettors will be taking Boston in the finals.Comment -

#113It depends on how long Boston rests, if Boston rests a long time Rask might not be sharp, but if Blues close in 6 I could easily see Boston cleaning up games 1 and 2 at home, I think more rest hurts Boston for sure because how strong Rask has been recently.Comment -

I’d rather my team not get a week plus break when they been playing at a really high level. Put it this way, does anyone believe bruins can play better than they did their last handful of games? I only see one direction they can go after the layoff!! Sure it possible they sustain that same level even after the time off but I can’t help but think it will fall off a little.
End of day the better team will figure it out and find a way to win 4 games whether they tired, rusty, have a cold, or any other excuse therma can come up with!!
I was so excited for the cup but now that the “experts” round here have assured me that blues are garbage, have no chance to even make it a long series, and they going all in on the free money bruins who should be -200 (bunch of expert oddsmakers we have round here!) im pretty bummed out. Sucks we don’t even have a chance!Comment -

#118So if blues wrap it up on Tuesday they have a nice little break as well? I don’t see any way bruins having almost 2 weeks off is better than blues getting 5 days assuming they wrap it up in gm6., 11 days is too long a layoff imo.Comment -

#119Payroll? So what?
Blues were awful early on. A timely coaching change and a hot goalie and they over achieved to get where they are, which is one win away from getting beat in the Cup finals vs a team that will steamroll them because of how much less effort they have put in to get where they are now, all the heavy lifting was done for Boston by Columbus and the Islanders and the Hurricanes, now all Boston has to do is dominate an inferior team that was life and death to get to the finals.
I'm saying its just too much for San Jose or St Louis to overcome. Plus St Louis still has to win another game. We may be premature on the Blues even making the finals.
Boston in 5.
“Life or death to make it”? Wtf does that mean? They had to play good teams so they didn’t sweep? All the teams they have beaten could have easily dispatched of bruins opponents.
Cinderella’s don’t have huge payrolls.
I hear you talking but it don’t make a damn bit of difference how many times you say how easy it will be for bruins, it just a guess like any other, you don’t know the outcome anymore than the rest of us pal.Last edited by 2daBank; 05-19-19, 07:19 PM.Comment -

#131I think the best value in the Boston-St. Louis series will be probably be on the total, if Boston is -150 to -160 at home that seems like a fair line to me, I think the series will likely be low scoring, Blues don't want to get in an open game with Boston.Comment -

Damn right we will split in Boston, that not even a question.
You think Boston will be favored in stl? They have priced blues pretty high at home these playoffs (which is crazy imo). That be sweet cause then I can keep betting blues but Im fully expecting Bruins to be small dogs and prob chasing them for a road win in 3/4..
after it tied at 2 then who knows wtf I’ll do?? If I didn’t have a decent blues future I’d keep betting them From 5 on like I have every round. Guess just see how I feel at that point. Hell it might not be 2-2, could be 3-1 blues! Or 3-1 Boston I guess. LolComment
