Wizzle’s NBA Playoffs 2019

Had some good runs on here over the years in the NBA Playoffs. Let’s see if we can do it again. Will be tracking all plays in here. I invite all to join and talk about the games, matchups, etc.

Spurs (Game 1) +5.5 -110 (2x)

Denver had some struggles down the stretch. They may have peaked early. They are still a great home team but look for San Antonio to be ready here. The Spurs machine continues to churn out solid play year in and year out.

Jazz +6.5 -110 (2x)

A rematch of the Conference semifinals last year. Utah was able to win a game in Houston last year but that was it. This year I think they give the Rockets a tougher series. I can see this going 7 games. Both teams ended the season in great form and I expect this series to be played at a very high level. The Jazz needed a year to get sorted out. They had some new pieces last season. This time around they’ll be ready and poised.

Don't know if these teams will be ready. A lot of the Jazz series imo depends on Ricky Rubio. I know a lot of ppl discount him, but he can either lose a series for you or win one for you. At the top of his game, Rubio is a top 12 PG in the NBA, and is easily the second best player on the Jazz imo. All these other guys like Gobert, Favors, Ingles, Crowder, they are what they are. Solid fundamental pieces. None of whom can take over a game. Rubio can go for 25 and 12 any given day. Gobert's buckets are all off assists. Ingles is slow and can only shoot and pass. Crowder doesn't make plays off the dribble. So without an engaged Rubio, Jazz will not sniff 3 wins in this series. But let's see how he looks.

Spurs Denver is a tough series to call. Some of these guys like Barton and Gary Harris have been disappointing this year. I don't know how long Denver can rely on Morris and Beasely off the bench. If Harris and Barton continue to struggle, this series can go 7. Imo, Spurs have the two best players on the court in Aldridge and Derozan. They are very thin after that, with Rudy Gay as their third. A slower tempo would favor the Spurs in this series most definitely.

Is Rubio healthy though Goat? That was a big factor in the Jazz losing so quickly last year. Sadly he may not be healthy again this time around, hopefully was just being kept out as a precaution.

Not sure yet. I think the Jazz can win but it might just be a 7 game series that Houston wins with the home court.

Yeah they need him.. Otherwise they are too predictable on offense and rockets will roll them.. If he is healthy then I can see longer series..

I really like Utah, probably would have picked them over anyone other than GS and Houston. Think Rockets are a tough matchup for them, too much scoring. We will see if Utah can grind it out and slow the pace. Agreed that they will need Rubio if they want to have a chance.

If OKC doesn't get out of round 1 this year, they need to seriously consider the direction of the team and what they're doing.

The Thunder played bad the second half and somehow got a lucky draw.

Both the Rockets and Warriors on the other side of the bracket. They need to do something this year...like win a series or two.
