#73Rocking the Classic with sound and piping it through the big screen sound bar.
Wife says it sounds like a hospital in here. Told her it was our bankroll on life support.
She was not amused.
Takes a special woman to be married to a gambler. Even as a disciplined marksman, imagine what she has gone through over the years.
A special woman indeed.
I been gambling hereabouts for ten good solid years,
If I told you all that went down it would burn off both of your ears.

#76Love classic with sound. Good shit.
If SBR moves on from classic, I might put the new one in it's place on one of the screens. But each time I try that, I just go back to classic. I don't need all the click to bet options, just like the compact basic info classic offers.
I could adapt, but there isn't much need.Comment -

I noticed that if we scroll the books on the main page, then click the chart icon on the left to get line history, we have to scroll to the left again to get to the books down the line.
It's not terrible, but something to bring up.
Also, setting our preferred sportsbooks will solve some of this I'm sure. I'll mess with settings later.
Regardless, I'm slowly using the new version and trying to get used to it.
SBR has done well with the odds page, always have.

#81Odds and sports book about to go big time. Wish I had a piece of the action. Instant financial bomb. Tremendous idea. FTR, I'm taking credit, too. Suggested this to John and Ken over lunch in April 2006. John was listening too. His eyes opened wide he sort of played it off, but he was nervous that I may make it happen before SBR. I failed, John took the bull by the horns. Kudos in order.Comment -

#83I was messing with it a bunch earlier. It's really not too big of a deal. Clicking the the chart icon really does give us a decent line history with the ability to scroll right for the more books.

What you mentioned about going to page two and opening line history and having to scroll again is something we've considered. One solution is to always see the first book that's visible, so you go into page two and if book XYZ is the first you see, when clicking line history we can show that book highlighted first. Either way we will restore the click to touch line history & maintain the slider of books.Comment -

I'll start going into my own settings there and play around some more.
Thanks for working on it.
That optional sound is a nice feature too. There are slower times in some markets where it's been useful to me, that's for sure.

#94You can simply fit more games on the screen and its more compact than even the new compact version but I'm not telling you anything you don't already know and heard.
I have this page up always and jump back and forth to it non stop as I have other sites up gathering information on upcoming games. Of the 2, It is simply the more efficient site.
Don't get me wrong. I always see big picture in everything. SBR has provided an awesome odd/scores site for us free of charge. For that I am appreciative. It is probably my most viewed site in the internet.
Now I answered your question please answer mine. Why have you guys pushed this on us so hard? This situation is different than "people don't like change". From the very beginning many haven't liked it with sound reasons. You take a break on the feedback, like you did this time, only to come back and try to "persuade" us all over again.
What does it matter which version we use? Most times as with everything it's about the money. Will it be easier to implement ways to pull more $ off the page in the future? I can respect that. If not, why does it matter?Comment -

Tremendous for some but for most of us we are just sheep in this.
We aren't privy to the inner workings of SBR. It's obvious they have a strong agenda here but will not really say why.
I can tell you this.... they brought JJ, SBR online legend persona, here to push for it (much like he is brought in to defend certain books when they are questioned) and now with the addition of influential poster #1, KVB to tell us how he is slowly switching over, I see the direction its headed. You use a similar formula for other situations like this. Your strategy is clear but please let us in on why it's so important?
Once again, big picture, this site is great. Your contests, sportsbook and odds pages have treated me, as well as many others, well. I am grateful but just a bit curious.Comment -

#99Interesting Teaser. Make no mistake, I like classic, I say it all the time.
Gold mentioned it, we all know it, it's different...that white space and I like the classic scoreboard format.
I was just being honest in saying I would put it up and try it out, no real agenda there, more of personal decision. I have not fully bought into switching.
Sometimes we have to get used to things and can't help but think one day classic is phased out.
Still love me some classic for sure, sound and all.

Gotcha and understood. I have nothing but respect for you as a poster. You are not about drama or bs just substance and most feel this way. I just worry that SBR knows this so they have you working for them in situations such as this but your point is clear. All good.Comment -

#105I'm guessing that SBR figures they can make more by gaining more users in the future because of the added functionality and features that many of us don't need but others like or want.
They may be banking on being an industry leader moving forward and need to have the evolving product to meet the needs of the newer generation of users, so many of them mobile anymore.
Of course, those of us who've been here like what we like.
I'm also guessing that the focus on this odds page is for mobile users, but it could be both.Comment
