#2Had a fantastic dish
Spiedini Proscuitto
White breast meat marinated, lightly dusted in breadcrumbs, basted in lemon butter and char broiled. Topped with white wine lemon butter sauce with proscuitto ham, mushrooms and blended Italian cheese.Comment -

#18Whatever guy.
American-Italian cooking is the very happy result of Neapolitan/Sicilian culinary sensibilities crossed with the abundance of American foods. A LOT of dishes from this, the basic pizza we know, lasagna, veal parmesan, (a lot more meat dishes than in Italy, plus a LOT more use of ricotta/mozzerella cheese) ... the classic spaghetti joint is as American as apple pie.
That said - I'm suddenly very interested in a place I've never heard of ... The Hill.Comment -

#19This guy ^^ is a sharp guy. Some sort of doctor or scientist.
But what we have in this video is happening all across America.
And that is that.... OLD, household name, classic restaurants are SHItE in terms of quality.Comment -

gotta check out the Heart of Italy/ Little Tuscany section of Chicago. Its different from the more well known and touristy "Little Italy" on taylor street.
like "The Hill" its like 7-9 restaurants and little bars and clubs on a 5 block stretch that seems like out of a 1950's movie set.

I go to Chicago occasionally and have been to Italian restaurants - but never really visited an Italian neighborhood there. It's usually on business and I usually don't get involved in planning the nights out, so I end up at trendy places the younger set likes or the big name steakhouses. For the record, no complaints there.Comment -

#26I will check this out - Bacchanalia specifically! I love that video. He even says "no ricotta here" in regards to his lasagna. So good.

#30Mr Landers I look forward to getting to know you as you are clearly a much discussed poster. Are you also a restaurant connoisseur? That dish you posted doesn’t look that appetizing if I’m being dead honestComment -
