I question Trump's motive. Why? Because the GOP controlled Congress for TWO YEARS
and he never asked for a dime for the wall. He had his chance to get the wall funding and never made
it a priority. Now the Democrats win the House, and he makes it a crisis - when everyone knows they
would be against it... so.... what is the real plan here ? Something else.

Trump always made the wall a priority - you need 60 votes in the Senate to get anything done. Its been 2 years, he knows if he doesn't get the wall done this year it won't get done since democrats are obviously not going to fund the wall in an election year.

Its also smart politically because it makes the democrats look weak on border stability, and it rallies his base.

He’s had 2 years and has built 4 15 foot wide prototypes. If it was the major platform issue he campaigned on, he coulda found donors, etc to get this ball rolling a lot more. Hell, he coulda done it for a publicity stunt during the election. The main issue is funding. And everyone on both sides know the only way that’s gettting done is through tax payers. These dummies should have put wall funding it in the tax reform bill they passed.

From a legal perspective if Trump declares a national emergency to try and build the wall it will end up in the courts and could take a long time to get to the Supreme Court.

That PLUS according to the 1976 act, it can be denied by Congress, or re-evaluated later. I read the whole law.
In addition there is the possibility of impeachment and I wonder if a handful of GOP Senators may do that when
presented with a one-shot opportunity .

Trump is asking for $5.7 Billion out of an annual budget of $4.407 Trillion........ Lets put that into perspective. Trump is asking for $57 dollars out of an annual budget of $44,070..... Think about that. Imagine your spouse saying "we're not going back to work, the kids aren't getting their allowances, and no bills are getting paid until you give up the idea of spending $57 dollars to fence in our yard"..... He tweeted about some political issues in the past. Illegal immigration wasn't a big issue back in 2012 compared to now and Trump wasn't running for office or in a position of political leadership.

Everyone knows when interest rates are at zero it creates bubbles, the stock market is very different now because rates have risen and the US economy is much stronger than it was during the Obama years.

There's no doubt Trump made mistakes, but Trump entertainment largely represents Trump's Atlantic City properties from 40 years ago, Trump learned from those mistakes and built one of the best companies in America.
