Both times he did it, even the most optimistic analysis shows it changed the Rams chances of winning by less than 1%. The “smartness” of doing that is extremely minimal.

Aaron Rodgers knowing to snap the ball when the other team is in the middle of substitution and getting penalty yards is a much better example of something beneficial to his team than Gurley doing something like this

Its really only a real smart play when the team is up by 1 point.

Anything more and its highly unlikely to matter one way or the other.

This one made no damn sense. I get he trying to be a team player but think he trying too hard with this one!!! Last time he did this it won the game,, this time there was still 2:30 on the clock and they were only up 7!! What if they fumble the next snap?? Last time it would have only put his team up 8 with extra point pending plus they could take a knee afterwords., this time you take the td and put your team up 2 scores, no question.

Detroit had to burn their final timeout to stop the clock. The only other time stoppage they had after that was the 2 min warning. It was a good play in hindsight. It would have looked pretty fukkin dumb if they fumbled or didn't score.

Obviously didn’t matter but think you gotta take the td and put your team up 2 scores there. Against shithole lions it dont matter but he would be wise not to do something like that vs a real team in the playoffs imo.
