Michigan will leap frog Oklahoma without question. If Notre Dame loses, Ohio State will be #4.

If oklahoma wins they will get in, OSU besting northwestern won't mean a whole lot.

Right but if okla barely beats Texas and ohio st blows out northwestern, there's a problem for okla

I think the committee will be very leary of either team because of how hideous their defenses are, but they are stuck because of how low the quality of play is this year across the board

Well, they sure as hell should leap frog them. Oklahoma needed luck + ref screwjob to barely beat the #13 ranked team. Ohio State just completely blew out the #4 ranked team. Plus, they would kill Oklahoma.

The committee is praying that Clem, ND win out and Georgia beats Bama in CC game
Then they are completely off the hook

If Bama blows out Georgia then its easy - Bama, Clemson, ND, Oklahoma. If Georgia loses by a field goal in a close game Georgia will have a good case to make that they are better than a 1 loss Oklahoma or Ohio State team.

You're the exact wrong person for the committee. You're forgetting osu got smashed by 29 at average Purdue on a pristine sat night a month ago. You're forgetting osu giving Maryland a 50 spot last sat. You're only looking at Oklahoma last night a d osu today. Then u gave your baseless opinion that osu would kill Oklahoma. No way a guy like u should be making ant huge decisions like this

Right. This is what they're stick with. Their job is to pick the 4 best teams based on bidy of work not who has a great defense etc. This is not opinion based. It's the 4 best teams based on what u have in front of u

I think Georgia's the second best team in the country, everyone is assuming Clemson is #2 because of how good they've been in past years but the ACC is garbage. ND hasn't played anyone good on the road and their win against Michigan came in Patterson's first start, Syracuse lost their starter in the first quarter.

Feel like this is all leading to an 8-team playoff. 5 Automatic qualifiers from Conf Champions, 1 top Mid-major, + 2 at-large teams.
This year, the top mid-major would be UCF. Top 2 at-large teams would be Michigan + Georgia.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

The 4 best teams in the country are Bama, Georgia, ND, Clemson. Oklahoma's defense will get destroyed if they get to the final four.

So if Northwestern upset OSU in the CC game they are in the playoff??
Same thing with Pitt??
What is all the mid majors suck??
No automatic bids with such a small amount of teams

If Bama loses a close well played game then probably yes. Just like last year when they lost by 12 at auburn to finish 11-1 And no sec title but got in over 2 loss big ten champ ohio state.
If it's a 14 pt plus win for georgia and bana looks weak, they'll get jumped. It's all in the optics. Do they lose small or big

Georgia could blow them out and Bama would still get in over those 2 teams

I don't necessarily agree. If they come out and completely lay an egg and get blown out, the optics are pretty bad because they're 12-1 then but not a conf champ and OU and osu are 1 loss conf champs and that elevates them.
Last year Bama was 11-1 and lost to auburn 26-14 But got the nod because the team they were compared to was 2 loss big ten champ ohio state. It's different this year if Oklahoma and ohio state both win

Bama would have lost to Georgia, who would be a top 3 team
Okla lost to Texas and Oh St lost to Purdue badly
Bama blew everyone else out of the water while Okla and Ohio St barely beat terrible teams all year long
Not even close

Georgia had 2 fumbles and they were playing in death valley, losing to the at the time #3 team in the country on the road by 20 is not that big of a deal

Bama is the benchmark team in college football this yr
every team below them is compared to Ala , example , "Can team xxx play with Alabama?" Been this way all year
