Call me crazy, but I don't think next year's MVP is on that roster.

It’s a long shot no doubt but JT Realmuto did have a 4.8 WAR in 2018. If he could put up a 7 WAR for a team like the Dodgers it’s possible, however unlikely.
Yelich’s WAR in 2017 for the Marlins was 4.6.

He’s promising for sure. Fangraphs thinks his ceiling is a 3 WAR player year in year out. Nothing to shake a stick at but not MVP material.
We’ll see I guess.

It's always been like this for this team. Look back to when they won the world series and then their decision surrounding keeping no one from that team.

The origin of one-and-done.
Truely defined Fire Sale.
Great year for Yelich.

Ozuna was better in 2018 than he was in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
Here’s the weird thing about Ozuna; he used to have an absolute CANNON arm. Those days are gone. He either needs shoulder/elbow surgery or he’s using PED’d and it messed up his arm. I’m being totally serious.
In 2014, his defensive WAR was 9.8
In 2018 it was -2.6.

I don’t doubt the ped’s for a minute. He been raking lately, his fielding is so bad It comedy but long as he sporting a ops over .900 we ok with the defense!! dunno how the fukk guy won a gold glove?? His family must be the voters!?

Used to grab this guy in middle rounds of fantasy drafts every year, always produced. After last years explosion had to settle taking him 5th overall in the 1st round this year, needless to say happy so far.

Shit crazy what he doing to cards, typically cards have a excellent game plan on how to get other teams key guys out. I don’t even know if they have a plan w yelich cause we so damn scared of him our guys keep throwing it right down the middle! Of course he gonna rake when you see yadi’s glove moving a foot off the spot he set up!

I live in Miami.
In Ozuna’s early years with the Marlins he had an absolute CANNON arm.
Dudes would try to tag up on him from 3B on medium fly balls and he would just destroy them at home plate.
Then, boom, out of the blue like his last 2 years as a Marlin his arm went from cannon to noodle.

His shoulder is straight shot now. Appears to be better this year than last, his throwing still ass but last year it appeared to be preventing him from elevating ball when he hit it. He still says it only about 60% but at least he starting to rake again, hopefully that keeps up.
Not only can he not throw but don’t get me started on the “reads” he gets out there! Surely you saw the highlight where he scaled the wall for a ball that dropped 5 feet in front of the track?!!! That damn near a everyday occurrence he misreads one that badly, lol.

Yeah he’s always been a bit of a stand up comedian out there with his reads even when he had a good shoulder.
Every diehard Marlins fan (all 3,000 of us) miss Ozuna like crazy, though.

Id hate him too if I was a Cards fan. Glad he's out of the NL east so my Phillies don't have to see him as much.

That one he got tonight looked to be a good 6 inches inside. Dunno what the pitch was? Looked like a slider up that didn’t do a lot. He got 1 off wacha the 1st weekend that was shoulder high cheese but again middle of plate where cards miss a lot against him.
I saw several articles on famgraphs I believe talking about expecting all kinds of regression this year. I respect the stat geeks but sometimes their takes baffle me, lol. Dude a freaking beast, he looks like Barry bonds against us.

His home splits are ridiculous. 11 HR and 25 RBI with an OPS over 1.800. No HR and just 2 RBI on the road

To be completely honest, I saw him regressing back to being good again this year. Nothing in his pro career pointed toward him having another down year. The guy is really talented.

Maybe it home/road then? I thought those were just cause cards have already played 7 in milw, I’m sure he hit a good 8-9 of those against us! Lol. Maybe there hope he doesn’t crush us when beers come here? !!!

Oh I was talking about yelich and reading lot of anylitics ppl sayin he was gonna regress back from last year.
Honestly I was shocked Ozuna was so bad for us last year, I loved when we got him, I was glad Stanton wouldn’t come here for real!! His career arc definately seemed to be pointing up and he still young. Just frustrated all us cards fans he was so bad and yelich was so good! Lol. I expect Ozuna puts up really good numbers this season, contract year!! Plus last year his exit velo was still excellent (top 5 or so in league I believe) he was just hitting everything on the ground. He starting to elevate the ball again now!! Just hope it keeps up.

Banker, biggest shock up here was that the Cards didn't plunk Yeli at any point of this week's series. If LaRussa was still in charge no doubt he'd be wearing one or two.
