Former Bills QB Nathan Peterman worked out for the Lions, per source. His first workout since becoming a free agent.

stupid Bills... you do not want to win, you need another high 1st rounder

after the big road win, Bills may check out and not win another game this season
Unfortunately, thats not how it works. There are ALOT of guys on the roster who hang onto an NfL job on a week to week basis. Whoever is on the field, will be busting their balls, doing whatever they can to stay in the league.

Question is how he stuck on an NFL roster for so long when he had no talent and no potential

From NFL Draft busts to players who simply loved interceptions, these are the absolute worst quarterbacks to take an NFL field.

If Jon Gruden is looking for his latest reclamation project, he couldn't have picked a better candidate than former Buffalo Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman.
Peterman reportedly is visiting Oakland on Wednesday for a workout with the Raiders, to potentially sign on as a backup or part of the practice squad.

But Peterman is no ordinary backup quarterback.

The Bills' fifth-round draft pick in 2017 has become a laughingstock among NFL fans for his cringe-worthy stats: three touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a passer rating of 32.5 in eight games (four starts). He was cut by the Bills on Nov. 12 and has been a free agent ever since.
However, if there's someone out there who still believes in Peterman's potential, it might just be Gruden.
In 2017, the Raiders coach, who was working for ESPN at the time, wrote about Peterman before the NFL draft. Despite Peterman being in a draft class with current star quarterbacks Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes, Gruden heaped praise on him, calling him "the most pro-ready QB."
"Peterman is ready to walk in and be a contributor from day one," Gruden wrote on ESPN.com before the 2017 NFL Draft. "He just looks like a pro quarterback -- coming out of the huddle, running an offense with different formations, shifting, motioning, different patterns that other colleges don't run. Peterman will recognize route combinations and associate formations.
Gruden also complimented Peterman's leadership skills and expressed confidence that the University of Pittsburgh product would take command of the huddle.
"Most importantly, he will be able to get in a huddle from day one and look at 10 grown men and tell them where to go and what to do and handle a versatile snap count," Gruden wrote.

Quite possibly the worst guy to ever start at qb in NFL history. If I'm Kapernick's lawyer this signing is exhibit 1a in my collusion argument.

He can't be more embarrassed than Trent Dilfer saying that Mark Sanchez was the alpha male of that years QB class. How Sanchez commands a huddle. give me a break.

We all know kap can at least be a good backup and great scout team qb for more than half the NFL right now. As far as being a starter, he’d need to earn it because he was very bad at end of his SF time. Maybe the right situation pops up and his prior skill set could be used effectively. Mia, tb, Jax all would be places he should at least get a tryout but then I remember him Getting benched for Gabbert. That is shameful on every level.

I also get that most teams don’t want their backup qb being a big distraction all season. They own their teams and it should be their right to hire whomever they choose. I just wish they would come out and say it. That would be a real big check to write afterward.

Only a handful of teams have a strong enough locker room to tune out the noise and fan bases that wouldn’t freak out. If he doesn’t get a tryout this offseason though he may as well hang it up for good.

Baffling. It happens a lot though. Terrible QBs have backup jobs all over the NFL. Not sure what it is. Hardest position to play, I guess.
