They almost beat GSW because Of there defense and Chris Paul - But couldn’t resign Ariza and moute- 2 key parts in there perimeter defense- because of the Chris Paul contract - Houston is a weaker team this year - will Probly still win 53 plus games - But what made them great last year was all there wing defensive players - tucker/Ariza/moute would switch on defense consistentlyComment -
You can't play defense in the NBA and not have an offensive game.
Tucker and Ariza both hurt them last year when up 3-2. Neither could make a shot, especially Ariza. I will take offense over defense any day in the NBA, or any sport for that matter.

The Houston Rockets and Carmelo Anthony are discussing his role with the team and how the franchise and 10-time All-Star forward might still be able to proceed together for the rest of the season, league sources told ESPN.
Talks are ongoing, the sources said.
Anthony, who missed the Rockets' game against the San Antonio Spursbecause of an illness Saturday night, signed a one-year, $2.4 million veteran's minimum contract with Houston after agreeing to a buyout with the Atlanta Hawks.
The Rockets would be responsible for paying the 34-year-old Anthony that contract should the team decide to waive him.
Houston is searching for answers with what has been a sluggish start to the season on offense and defense. Anthony and the Rockets were both enthusiastic about his reunion with coach Mike D'Antoni in the preseason, but both Anthony and the team -- which has had injuries and lost key personnel in free agency -- are off to a slow start.
The Rockets had the NBA's No. 1 offense a season ago but have dropped to 26th overall in the team's 4-6 start in 2018-19.
Anthony missed 10 of 11 shots in the Rockets' 98-80 loss to Oklahoma City on Thursday night. He is averaging 13.4 points on 40 percent shooting for the Rockets this season.
A year ago, Anthony had his poorest offensive season in the NBA for the Thunder, who traded him to Atlanta in the summer.

Melo off the bench coming to an end soon. Not sure when, but Rockets garbage. Melo sucks off the bench because he needs rhythm and early touches. PJ Tucker and Ennis are an abomination as starters. Those guys are D league players...

The Rockets have denied they are waiving Anthony, but he was listed as “out” because of illness for Houston’s game against the Pacers on Sunday night. The former Knicks star has played just 10 games for the Rockets this season, averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds off the bench.
The news of Anthony’s potential departure comes after ESPN reported the Rockets were already having discussions with the former All-Star about his role on the team.
“I’m sure you can address that with [general manager Daryl Morey],” Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni told reporters after his team dropped to 4-7 with a loss to the Spurs on Saturday, in which Anthony did not play. “I’m trying to win a game.
