#8The international warrant issued for Enes Kanter’s arrest has, thus far, not hindered his ability to play basketball. Despite his passport being revoked by the Turkish government, Kanter made…
Turkish govt wants to sentence him to 4 years in prison.
US has an extradition treaty with Turkey, so I'm not sure how he's even allowed to play in the US. Trump needs to step in and send this criminal back to where he came from.Comment -

#10No. Turkey has labeled him and his father as terrorists and issued a warrant for his arrest. They've also revoked his passport. The US should not be harboring foreign terrorists.Comment -

It's a Muslim country btw, and a typical Islamic state at that, hence the US granting him citizenship.Comment -

#19If you gonna point fingers at who is a terrorist out of this matter then the US gov. (CIA) is the real terrorist. Harbouring and siding with Fetullah Gulen trying to overthrow a democratically elected government in the 15 July 2016 military coup attempt in Turkey.
Gulen movement's leader is religious cleric Fetullah Gulen.
Fetullah Gulen political asylum in the US since the late 90's.
Over a span of decades his followers infiltrated all branches of the government, judicial system, military and media.
Turkey has pages of evidence that Gulen is behind the coup and requested the US for Gulen's extradition. Lucky they don't publicly blame the US for the coup attempt.
Kanter is a open follower of the Gulen movement sect.

Turkey’s Vote Makes Erdoğan Effectively a Dictator
On Sunday, Erdoğan declared himself the winner of a nationwide referendum that all but brings Turkish democracy to an end. The vast new powers granted to Erdoğan—wide control over the judiciary, broad powers to make law by decree, the abolition of the office of the Prime Minister and of Turkey’s parliamentary system—effectively make him a dictator. Under the new rules, Erdoğan will be able to run for two more five-year terms, giving him potentially another decade in power, at least. With a vote by the now truncated parliament, he would be able to run for yet another term, one that would end in 2034. By then, he’ll be an old man.

#26I remember at the Eurobasket last summer Hedo Turkoglu, president of the Turkish Basketball Federation these days, had some harsh words for Kanter unprovoked. Ultimately anyone of authority in Turkey is but a lackey, either on the take or having their arm twisted. I'd take Kanter's word over frog eyed Hedo.Comment -

#28The Knicks and Kings are discussing a potential trade that would see the teams swap the expiring contracts of Enes Kanter and Zach Randolph, league sources tell ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (Twitter link).
However, according to Wojnarowski, nothing is close yet, as Sacramento would prefer to send out more expiring money in any such trade. Getting a third team involved could help pave the way to a deal, Woj adds.
Kanter, 26, has had an inconsistent role for the Knicks this season as the team focuses on developing young bigs like Luke Kornet and Mitchell Robinson. Kanter has spoken repeatedly about how much he likes playing in New York and hasn’t requested a trade, but he may welcome the opportunity to get more regular playing time for a team in the playoff hunt as he approaches unrestricted free agency.
The Kings fit that bill, remaining in the race for a postseason berth despite a recent slump. The 20-21 squad is currently tied with Utah and Minnesota, two games back of the Lakers for the No. 8 seed.
Sacramento also has approximately $11MM in cap room, which means the club could comfortably take on Kanter’s $18.6MM salary in exchange for Randolph’s $11.7MM contract without having to worry about salary matching. However, that may not be the best use of the Kings’ cap space — that space figures to be a valuable asset at next month’s trade deadline, since every other NBA team is over the cap.Comment -

#29So his crime is speaking freely against the President of Turkey.. LOl.. These silly Muslim Countries.. They all suck..
The Knicks and the NBA has time to assess this situation and determine a solution, but it’s obviously quite dicey. On one hand, Kanter doesn’t own a valid passport and is being charged as a terrorist in his home country of Turkey. On the other hand, Kanter’s biggest crime is speaking freely – specifically against Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has tightened his authoritarian grip on the country by arresting those who don’t fall in line.Comment -
