I wish I knew what the square side vs the sharp side really means because IMO it is totally made up phrase that people who think they are sharps want other people to think that about them also. I have been in this business probably longer than most of you are alive. it boils down to this--if you win a game you are on the sharp side and if you lose that same game you are a square. it makes no sense at all.

kinda reminds me of that old bookie joke, it goes something like this. when my bookie pays me because I won I was lucky, and when I lose I am stupid. the same thing with sharp/square title, it is basically meaningless. now if you want to tell me that the square side is the side that the public likes well that makes a tiny bit more sense, but what do you say to that square side when they win or even better yet when the "square" side goes on a long winning streak. now is the square side the sharp side.

I lost three games crucial games two Saturdays ago by one score, the game could have gone either way. I also lost many games on the last possession, games that I was on the winning side the entire game. what side was I on? I lost, does that mean I was a square on that game, even though my side had the game in hand for 9/10 of the game. they outplayed the other side and didn't cover.

I think here the 'square' reference is because the original poster is on the over and generally, at least here on message boards...over and favorite means square and vise versa.

exactly, the over is usually considered the square side, and you know what I am basically an under guy in the NFL and a dog guy in the NFL, and have been for decades. I give the dog a ton of consideration in the NFL, and I have had some good years.

Yes sir. I was upset for the most part with points being left on the table. Both teams were in each others half of the field frrquently and some turnovers thats resulted in 0 points for me. meh
