about 6 years old i was betting nickels on the putting green

No one cared about age in the 70s. I was openly making bets and cashing tickets with bookies at the races from under 10yo. Was never even questioned about it.

Father sent me to cash a ticket paying 3k at about 10, which was like 20 or 30k now. When I took the the money back he handed it to a trainer to buy a horse running in the next race, which won it.

No wonder I like gambling!

I was very young, grew up around the casino.

In high school I held casino night parties.

We had a home made craps table, blackjack, roulette, no rake poker and a nickel slot machine bought in Tahoe that had a high $50 jackpot.

My dad had to sign papers saying it wouldn't be used for gambling before bringing it into California.

A swedish exchange student hit the $7.50 jackpot and the $15.00 jackpot twice, all in one night.

A big payout for nickel machine but we stayed solvent....

26 years old....Commodity Futures....won a lot...lost a lot... but had a happy ending ....learned very quik the big boys in that business can take you out in a flash....!!!! Now that's gambling.....
Sports is a lot better platform.... smaller wagers but a guy has a chance if he puts the work in...

I remember betting my allowance money on football games. I had to get an advance allowance sometimes to pay my debts.

this is why I don’t teach my kids anything about gambling. It’s a shitty way to live life.

Was an intern one summer in college for one the major US leagues.. everyone in my office was betting Small Ball all summer... I shipped my first $100 offshore to BETUS.com this was like 2004.. I hit a big parlay for like $25 to win $700 .. I was hooked.. lost it all + more that summer.. learned a lot

now you guys probably did this not sure, in 9th grade in the bathroom we would bet 25 cents to a dollar by tossing quarters against the wall whoever was closest to the wall won, its fast and quick money also we would play cards in the bathroom we would get caught sometimes and the advisor would give you licks based on what card you pulled out of the deck, we got paddles sometimes at that strict school, Im from the south though so

cfc (cards for cards) at a very young age, 8 maybe? i taught the neighborhood kids draw poker, we'd have a stack of sports cards we'd use as chips, and i'd take everyone's cards until they cried to their parents and i'd have to give them back

Sports and Vegas gambling pretty much started for me at age 21 when I became of legal age to gamble in Vegas.. Very recreational though. I wasn't capping sports hard until my 30's.. I'd do Vegas road trips with the boys in college frequently... Started on the tables though and not sports mostly... 21 black jack was my game..

Had a compulsive sports gambler and best friend as a roommate in College (Santa Barbara) which probably wasn't a healthy situation but he was a very good sports gambler, sharp as a whistle, taught me a lot.. Photographic memory... It really started with just playing cards and backgammon for real money right after high school.. Mid 20's started doing Mexico TJ casino runs with that same friend to bet sports regularly though.. That's when I really started to get into sports betting..

That's what I remember anyways.. 30 years of sports gambling now and still going strong today. All good.

Started playing parlay cards around the age of 5. I used to win 4-5 every football season. Was nice to throw a buck on it and win 50 bucks. Did better than adult me does.
