Here we got Boston Red Sox vs Philadelphia Phillies!
Interesting that both teams have played better than most predicted before they started the season. Both teams will cash there win totals easily now. It’s only time that at some point both with cool off at some point. ALL teams go through a cold spell.
Question you have to ask is which of these 2 are most likely ready for a little regression?
Nola is somebody I really like but 12-3 wow, I wouldn’t had believed that when the season opened even though I pounded the over in the low number of wins expected this year. His whip is .99 that is just sick!
Price well he has a respectable 11-6 with a rather high era a tad over 4. Now pitching in a hitters Park is one reason, the other reason is he just is not the same old Price. Put him on another team that doesn’t hit much and he would be a losing pitcher or 500 pitcher this year. He is averaging roughly about 6 innings a game . Some more per game but a good number less.
What I think is in the back of their minds right now has to be this Yankees series coming up. Back to Price is he a still big game pitcher? Well he pitched 2x against the rival Yankees and lost both times. Gave up 8 runs I believe most recently. He did beat Houston this year. Other than that he only beat average and infer 500 teams.
Let’s look at Nola a bit now. He is average about 7 innings a game. When I look at his scheduled games where he pitched, I see some weaker teams. The only game that stands out to me that is very impressive is the game against the Dodgers on May 31, 2018. That was in LA where he went 7 innings with7 KO’s in giving up 1 run.
Tonight will be another huge test to prove his 12-2 record! The Red Sox have never seen him. I think there are 2 guys on the RSox that have. These two had 3 at bats against at most
Phillies have 3 guys that hit Price well, Plouffe, Cabrera and Sandra. So if we want Phillies they would help to be in that line up. We know Boston will be without Devers. That is a key position player out.
Anyways I am looking at this TV game pretty hard. Need to review a few situations to decide later. Looks like weather will be 80 then dropping in the high 70’s.
Have a good Monday!
