    hockey

if he can bench 300 and run a 4.6 then he has a 10% chance to make a living as a pro

ive played with players who have barely any athletic talent but are smart good hands. made millions

look at all the ex-pros sons who are playing as pros. cant be that good of a gene passon. hockey is where the chance is

yes in baseball. not in hockey. hockey in new england has at least one pro in every town. i mean every 5 years some kid makes it pro. some towns have a handfull at the same time.........if you opened a rink in birmingham alabama you would have some of the best hockey players on the planet 20 years later

Too hard to make it to the pros in baseball.
Just teach them how to kick a field goal. His brains won't be mush when he retires after making millions every year for 20 years.

Give up around 26 or so and realize you're broke, uneducated, unconnected and unemployable

Hard to bounce back- wind up marrying chic w $$ but divorced 5 years later and hosed

                                yes to football placekicker

skills and strengths that a larger/wider population can develop. you can be short, skinny, chubby ect.

baseball? too much competition out there. literally hundreds of thousands of "pro" players out there riding buses in the minors for small small paychecks, playing in bandboxes in cuba, mexico, venezuala ect. that will never make it to the big show of MLB.

97% of baseball players are born tall, lean, muscular. certain gene set and body type you need to be born with. especially pitchers. Also need to be born with a body that can withstand the over-use injuries that will occur. Even the Pitchers that have have those genes still end up getting a surgery or two. Human body was not meant to throw ball overhand at 90-100 mph and spin it the way you have to thousands a times a year for 10-15 years just to get good enough for your first shot at first pitch at the MLB level.

Good education and instilling a good work ethic and understanding of people and the real world. Your kids will have a real shot to be happy and successful in this world

I don't think that statement is correct. I trained with D1 hockey and rugby players back in the day.

Golf. Always can make a living teaching, designing, etc.
And if you do make the PGA, make a nice living simply making cuts with a few top finishes.

Thousands of baseball guys stuck in minors working for slave wages thinking they have a shot. Then what?

                                      NBA fools gold.

Yeah the amount of money that is made off these kids is crazy. The parents are a whole other ball of wax. I think a lot of them see the numbers in the OP and mis-remember how good they were in high school and think hey I didn't make it but my kid could!

but the talent pool for hockey is weak. i remember when paul kariya was at maine and it was a new england legend that he could olympic squat 450 lbs

yeah thats solid but anyone over 200lbs in college football can do that now

pretty simply there are no blacks, brazilians ect in hockey. a guy with decent athletic talent has a chance to go pro if he gets the $ put toward it from an early age. easiest sport by far
