Oldman for best actor, McDormand for best actress, and Coco for best animated film all seem like locks to win. Odds are garbage though. The only thing I bet on was Icarus to win best doc. Great value bet considering the impact of the film- it was primarily responsible for getting Russians banned from 2018 Olympics (they had athletes but had to compete as "neutrals").

I didn't get the hype with 3 billboards. Nice acting and well shot but nothing we've already seen before. Get Out was dope. Still need to see Shape of Water, heard that was nice. No Molly's Game? That movie was great, especially for us gamblers.

Took 3 Billboards for Best Picture at even money and original screenplay at +125. For the hell of it I also took Christopher Plummer as my long shot in the dark for Supporting Actor at 20-1. I could see the academy giving this to him in lieu of a Lifetime Achievement Award since he's 88 and to stick it to Kevin Spacey who Plummer replaced for the movie after Spacey's scandal came out.

It's not always the Best Picture or actor, politics is a huge factor (i.e. #MeToo and Weinstein) that can influence a movie.

I didn't think Scorsese was the best director that year for The Departed, but at that point the academy probably figured it was long overdue for his other movies.

No because I don’t idolize or look up to actors and actresses....they don’t impress me. I can watch a occasional drama if the writing is on point...but mostly it’s real life stuff for me.
