Yeah, it's always the same few guys.

I'm just not a very good heads-up player, Jake. And I've never really played limit before.

I was just looking for a little help. I KNOW YOU ARE THE LEADER OF THIS BOARD. I apologize for taking up space.

Giant...I'll admit to ENJOYING limit hold-em. But it's going to get old.

No-limit so much more advanced. Aggression + bluffing. Limit is a different game.

Main difference is odds behind + implied odds. Stack-size behind very important in No-limit. Not so important in Limit. If u make a big hand in Limit...can only make a few extra units. In Limit, can win stacks.

Heads up you need to be aggressive with relatively marginal hands. You need to get to know these guy's ranges. You need to disguise your hands to get paid when you hit monsters. Check raise is your friend as is check call and check fold. You should watch some guys on twitch or Youtube play HU LHE.

I heard one poker pro say that AA is a much better holding in Limit than No-Limit. In Limit, AA can win a family-pot > 50% of time and get called down by top-pair type hands. When u lose, the liability is smaller.

In No-Limit...are u comfortable laying down AA when u aren't SURE that you're beaten? If you're stubborn, you expose yourself to getting stacked.

Limit poker can be fun, but should mostly be viewed as entertainment. Been mentioned b4...but rake in smaller Limit games can be too large a % of the pot. Pay attention to how much is being scraped into dealer box.

Another perspective on Limit vs No-Limit. Watch the geometry of the pot growth. In Limit, bet is normally 1-unit Pre-Flop and Flop, 2-units Turn/River. So, bet-size goes up a little, but it doesn't explode. In No-limit...if there's a matchup of two real hands and/or Draws/bluffs, be prepared to play for stacks. You need to have some steel in your balls to play a game where u KNOW that your stack of ten $100 black chips could be gone two minutes from now.

No way. Only way I'd say that is if you're heads-up + u feel like opponent might be betting a busted draw.

Why you playing that giant? It's really for beginners. Ur better of playing online for no limit.25/.50 cent . It u get stacked it's only a 50 bux buy in. If ur concerned about getting stacked when you are up $50 bux. quit on a stop win limit and go read old jj threads. . But you have a 1k to 2k bankroll anyway. So 50 bux isnt much. *** I play at 2 or 3 levels of buy ins. Depends on my mood and what I am doing. ****. When I lived in Vegas and first starting playing poker i used to play limit tables $2/$4 at the golden nugget and read david sklanskys book small stakes limit. It's real good for beginners. But you can't win at small stakes limit because of rake. Profit is at $5 /$10. 2/4 limit is good training. But after you got that. I'd go online .25/.50 cent no limit and learn there. And move up as you win.

Read Sklansky's book. I actually haven't read the whole thing. It's like watching paint dry. Don't play anything below 4/8. The rake will kill you. 4/8 is probably the break even point, depending on the game. I have managed to spend a week a casino and paid my bills at 2/4. Limit is a science, and NL is an art form. BOL
